Hotel in great location, staffed at the front desk by first. Class staff who I would like to give a special mention, Clemintine, Sonya, and Julian.--nothing was any trouble to any of them, they could not have been more helpful to our many questions.
Breakfast was 12€ each but well worth the price, because you could eat as much/as little as you wanted, and in my case the breakfast kept me going all day------typical European style with fresh fruit mixture prepared daily----lots of juice, bread, cheese, and ham.-----a very novel idea which I have never seen before, and I have travelled a lot, was a system of boiling your own eggs--just great-----walk south along rue Trevise., cross the street, and enter a small archway, and you will find your way through the small enclave of Cite Bergere---not very glamourous but continue on to Rue Montmatre---turn left onto the Grand Boulavards and you will find yourself in an area alive with people and places to eat-----one of my favourite areas of Paris.
My preferred route from CDG airport to this area/hotel is via Rer B to Leshalles, then take the metro line to Strasbourg/St.Dennis /(Line 4) then change onto (line 8) to the Grand Boulavards.
Sometimes in cities, I find difficulties in navigation, for example, 'am I travelling along a street west or east-------I have found an excellent little book which is laid out so well, and by using it, I have found it so easy to find my way around Paris---in my humble opinion, the best city map of Paris by a long way.---it can be bought at many news vendor stands along the street, or small tobacconist type shops, and it sells for €8.50---well worth the price, -----it measures 6 by 4 and will easily fit into your trouser pocket, and easy to carry by hand.
Details===Lisable & Practique Paris Arrondissements and it is dark red in colour, with a drawing of the Eiffel Tower on the front.----check it out, I promise you will not be disappointed.
Finally, when you are travelling around Paris, by metro, or around places of interest, be always " Switched on ", with your belongings ie wallets, cameras, phones etc etc, because of pick pockets.
There is plenty of advice on the internet re this matter.
The Police do a first class job, and other security people in the areas of interest, to deter the pickpocket, types, and having seen the Police in action on a number of occasions, I have complete confidence in them.
O yes, and to end, my wife and I love Paris, it is a great city, go out and enjoy it.
