Having searched and searched the Internet for a decent price hotel, in a good location we picked Hotel Magellan. What tipped it for us was the complimentary breakfast and the fact it wasn't in an overly "touristy" location. I think we picked well. The hotel is in a lovely safe neighbourhood with two stations nearby. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and tried their best to make our stay comfortable. The rooms like other reviews have said are on the small side but we were only there to sleep. The room itself was very clean and the bed comfortable. It did get a tad warm in the room but we were lucky enough to have the room facing the courtyard so had our window open. The breakfast was just ok, but enough to keep you full till lunch. I did love the fresh orange juice and the nice selection of breads they had. The hotel is located in a quiet street which was a bonus. To be honest I would definitely stay here again especially for that price.

A very good city centre break. Quiet area. Front reception staff were always very helpful. Room was clean & cleaned daily.
Iron & ironing board; hair dryer; TV & kettle in the room.
Excellent blinds (electrical) - darkened the room perfectly. Our room overlooked the road outside but we weren't disturbed.
Breakfast was good. Able to use orange juicing machine. Toast; fruit; yoghurts; cakes; eggs; ham & cheeses. Coffee & tea..... A lovely continental breakfast and I've probably left something out.
Beautiful courtyard - warm evening sun. Enjoyed an aperitif from the hotel bar. Small drinks menu but was sufficient for our group.

Great hotel for a weekend city break! Metro station Pereire less than 10 min walk away. We stayed at this hotel because it was near the start line/finish line for the Paris Marathon. We walked to the start line on Champs-Élysées and it only took approx. 20 mins. The hotel served us breakfast early at half 6 on marathon day. Quiet hotel, central location, restaurants, supermarkets near by and friendly staff. My friend and I would recommend it and we would come back to stay there :)

A very pleasant stay. Typically small French rooms, and the breakfast room was too small, requiring queuing on some mornings, but they did provide coffee while you wait. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well cleaned each day. Easy access to two Metro stations and some very good restaurants in the vicinity.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the courtyard.

Just back from a three night stay with friends and we were not disappointed. I checked reviews before booking and the high rating is justified

Taxi from CDG
The taxi from the airport rank took approx 30mins at rush hour and cost 46 euros. The taxi ordered by hotel on way back cost 50 euros although it was more spacious and comfortable.

Rooms
We had booked a twin and double room and both were of a good standard clean with the amenities you would expect. It was very quiet and beds were comfortable. They were cleaned on a daily basis and tv had two English speaking channels.

Hotel facilities

There is a small bar which was not busy and did not have any draft beer or rose wine for my wife.

The garden area would be ideal in the summer and although it was warm during the day not quite warm enough to sit out in morning or night.

The reception staff were helpful and all spoke very good English with check in and out very efficient

Misc
There was a small local cafe across the road which is ideal for a drink, draft beer and rose wine included. The restaurant at the end of the road turning right from hotel was very good and reasonable for food and drink. At weekends definitely book!!

The best restaurant we visited was about 5 minutes away, L'Entredgeu. Very small, busy, not many tourists, set 3 course meal 36 euros, 28 euros for bottle of house wine. Worth a visit if you want to stay local.

Nearest metro 5 mins away and is only 15 mins from centre of Paris . We took the yellow bus tour with batobus included. 44 euros for two day pass purchased on board. As first time visitors we found this great way to see Paris. The nearest stop was the arc de triumphe which was a 15 min walk fro hotel.

Overall a great hotel in a quiet residential area, not for those wanting to stay in the heart of tourist land!!

The hotel is a very nice and quiet place to stay in during your visit to Paris. The room was tidy, the staff was friendly and helpful (they speak English) and breakfasts were fresh and good. We enjoyed staying at this hotel (no air conditioning in March - even very warm March - wasn't a problem). And there is quite a good Indian restaurant just round the corner.

This really is a nice place; however, a word of caution: the hotel does not have air conditioning – at all. Maybe this is not an issue during much of the year, but we were there in the summer and it was a bit uncomfortable at times. Also, there are two buildings. The back building (where we were) has three floors – up a tiny, spiral staircase (no lift), so if you have large, cumbersome bags, beware! The location was really nice, however, as we were able to enjoy authentic Parisian culture from the moment we stepped out of the hotel.
