“Not that good.”
Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

The rooms are ok and clean but the air conditioning was useless...
Breakfast was supposed to be from 0630hrs, we went down at that time to be told quite abruptly by a member of staff that we would have to wait. We had to leave by 0700 so this did not give us enough time for breakfast.
The reception staff are all good and polite.
Wouldn't go back to this hotel again in the summer months as the rooms are too hot.

So I already knew it's in a calm location .. I already knew it needed renovation (became more conscious of that when i saw the bathroom and the elevator) and i was really ok with all that.. What was a problem for me is the attitude and treatment i received from one of the receptionists when i asked for my gold membership room upgrade ... "Yes sir i see your membership number, i see you're a gold member, i know you're entitled to an upgrade but we're full" and the sentence before would have been totally fine had it been with a smile and some recognition not in a bored and carefree spirit implying uselessness of the level .... I was asked to come later to check for availability and that i would have an upgrade 2 days later... Then when i did i was told i won't get it and the max i can get is a bigger room since the gave priority to new comers ... Putting me in line for ever ...

Asking for your privileges alone can make them lose their value... worse is not receiving them at all ... Don't think i'll come to this hotel again.

We spent 4 nights at the Holiday Inn. The first night, we arrived at the hotel at 10:30 pm and the hotel had our family of 4 booked in a room for 2 people only. We had emails and tons of paperwork showing that it was supposed to be a family room. After much discussion and 50 more Euros later, we were finally allowed to occupy the room for 2. It was terrible. We slept horizontal in "Willie Wonka" fashion but we survived. The next night, the room was corrected and the rest of our stay was wonderful. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. My advise, speak to the hotel directly and do not relay on a travel agent or the 800 number to ensure correct booking.

Room Tip: Make sure that your booking states "family" if you are traveling with more that two people...

Dear Danro2014 ,

we thank you very much to have taken the time to leave a review and for your adaptibility. It is true that there is sometimes a lack of communication between travels agencies and hotels and this is always better to send a previous email to the hotel to see if all is fine with the reservation.

We apologize that we couldn't provide you with the proper room on your arrival as it was indeed not the type reserved by the travel agency and we were this date fully booked. However you were very comprehensive, which is remarkable for guests coming this late and not having the type of room reserved.

So thanks again to you and your family for your kindness as well as your comment about the staff and we hope to have the pleasure to welcome you on a further date.

Kind regards

Visit for a team meeting, 28 persons
Rooms: I would rate mine a "good 3 star", large for Paris, very basic in the bathroom, clean enough, windows not very good in terms of sound insulation but at least you could open them!
Wifi: not good. Very very slow, fell out sometimes.
Some of my colleagues complained about showers not working properly and dirty / worn out rooms and bathrooms.
Food: good (breakfast & lunch)
Meeting facilities: OK, rooms have daylight from 1 side, not enough plugs, and again the Wifi is very very bad. We had to do a workshop using laptops, and lost a lot of time because wifi kept falling out.
Overall service was good, requests dealt with promptly if they could fix it! (e.g. not the wifi)
Location is pretty good if you want to be central and near the shopping.

Room Tip: rooms at the back will be quieter, facing inner courtyard, but even street side is not too bad (side...

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, at the begining of May. The hotel is near the metro / bus / taxi and is quite central. It has big rooms ( which is a very unusual thing for other hotels in Paris ), the breakfast was very good. The STAFF was very helpfull and friendly ( especialy Rusiana ).
I recommend this hotel.

Situated 10 minutes from the rail / metro station Montparnasse on the south side of the city, but with good communication links. I have now used this hotel twice; the first because we were attending an exhibition at Porte de Versailles (.. Very easy by car or metro); the second for pleasure. The hotel staff were extremely helpful - I watched how they handled people who could not speak French, and they were patient, and courteous at all times. The hotel rooms are functional , clean but those used to USA hotels and huge rooms with 2 double beds, will find it 'small'. Good luck to find something different in Paris (or Other cities).

The area is interesting. 2 minutes and you on Rue de Gaite. There you will find small theaters and cinemas, and restaurants. If you want try something different and 'central France' style, try Le Plomb de Cantal. This is not Haut cuisine - this is good country cooking in a great atmosphere. It is a busy 'eat and go' place which caters for the theatre- goer. The menu is in French and English, and at first looks daunting, but basically you have 10 dishes where you can have 3 variants of potato. The speciality is the purée ( mashed / cream potato) with garlic and cheese inside....which arrives after your plate, and is poured on with ceremony. Try the cabbage stuffed with sausage meet.... Delicious.

Room Tip: Think of this as a good place to sleep, not a place to lounge in your room all day. This is Paris af...
