We were wandering along Passage Verdeau and the display of cakes enticed us in to Le Stube. We had coffee and the heavenly sacher torte served with a dollop of flavoured cream. It was one of the best pieces of cake I've ever had - rich without being sickly. We'd already had lunch otherwise we'd have sampled their savoury treats too which all looked delicious.

The staff were attentive and friendly and the location is great as you can sit outside in the Passage whatever the weather as it's covered. I wish Le Stube had a branch near me!

This little cafe is an excellent find. They have bavarian plats, sandwiches, bier, desserts and takeaway at affordable prices, approx 6-15?. I had the "Saurkraut" plat, composed of huge mound of rather unsour thinly shaved saurkraut, mashed potato, caramelized onion, thinly shaved roast pancetta-type ham redolent of clove, pork loin with a crispy skin, bockwurst and two blobs of sweet and hot mustard. It was wonderful, hot, not greasy at all, and only 11,50?. I washed it down with a decilitre of Beck's lager and had a slice of raspberry filled Sachertorte for dessert. Mmm! The service was fast, friendly if not terribly warm, they speak better english than I do french, and they have a great, clean bathroom available also. Of note the table fee was about 4? pp.

Haven't tried everything, but the Kassler & Kartoffel is my favorite. Two honest slices of smoked roast pork and choice of potatoes (roasted, salad or mashed) at €8.50 is not only a great deal, but delicious. Their authentic "currywurst" is another must.
Only down side: the plastic knives and forks.

This place looked as a nice cafe when passing it on a Sunday. They had nice cakes which we ordered together with coffee. We went up stairs to sit. The sitting area downstairs felt better than upstairs where it had a more "cold" atmosphere.
Some of the staff spoke English, and some not. The staff looked rather young, but serve at the table and came to check if everything was ok - nice!
The cakes tasted very nice, so did the coffee. The only thing we found rather strange was that the used paper plates and paper cups. A place like this would feel much better having real coffe cups and plates.

Visited the Passage Verdeau branch on a Saturday afternoon. Sat upstairs overlooking the passage below. The place was busy and the four of us shared a very nice bottle of wine and a cake. Pleasant, clean and modern atmosphere with good service. German influenced menu.
