Captain here, the opera house is listed as Palais Garnier on google maps, so if like me you're trying to locate it, that's it!
Amazing gold and painted ceilings, large array of marble, we'll worth the entry.

The surrounding area "opera district" is excellent, lots of food, apple store and orange mobile.
Highly recommend Orange Mobile travel Sim for Europe, we travelled all over and the only time it didn't work was Switzerland.
If you're from Australia compare Orange with Telstra, the big daddy.

This is our all round, go to, most favourite area when ever we are in Paris, excellent eateries (good value). Mid range accom, and fun and safe to walk around

The spot is excellent for shopping, cafes and restaurants. Its between Hausmann and Rue Rivoli and kind of city central. Needless to say the Opera house is the key feature of the district. Overall highly recommended

Just in the Opera itself, the display of beautiful architecture, the musical performances, ballet, sculpted facade of the building, incredible paintings at the ceiling of the grand foyer are seen. Though there are a lot to see in this district. like the Greek structure of the l"Eglise de la Madeleine, Louvre, and many many more. This district is very much loaded with all arts.

To access all these places can be done so quick and easy through the Metro. Even at the door step of the Place de Opera.

We stayed at Hotel du Louvre which is undergoing extensive renovation. Rooms need serious update so that is good in long run, bad for now. Nonetheless, service is above and beyond. Excellent location to shop Rue St Honore and luxury boutiques nearby. A stone's throw from Galleries Lafayette and Printemps.
