“Wonderful garden in Paris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2014

This park in the Bois de Boulogne has the most impressive rose garden I have ever seen. In addition the park has water gardens, peacocks, a small chateau and many wandering paths. We spent 2 hours there instead of the 1 hour we had planned.

“Beautiful Park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

This park is the result of a bet between Marie-Antoinette and the Count D’Artois, a bagatelle means almost nothing in French. Roses in blossom in June, a Chinese pagoda, the castle itself and the park worth a visit for a lovely afternoon. They are organising weekly flower expositions and there is a guided tour of the park.
Difficult to find a taxi on the exit but two bus stops are near. And if you dare it’s just a 15 minutes’ walk to Neuilly sur Seine.
Free acces for childrens under 7.

“Roses and roses and roses and...........”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

If you like gardens and flowers do not miss this treasure so very near the centre of Paris. Especially in the month of June when the thousands of roses are in bloom you will be seduced by the lovely smells.
We spent quite some time admiring this spectacle all very well labeled. Lots of places to sit and admire. Peacocks roam freely through the gardens and when you're nibbling away on your baquete you will suddenly see yourself surrounded by begging peakcocks eating from your hand!
Such a treat with no queing or endless hordes of tourists! You can see the inside of the tiny chateau during a weekend in September ( Jours des Patrimoines).
No need to speak french. You get a map of the park at the gate ( together with your ticket).
Not to be missed!

“This is well worth visiting in Paris”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2014

In a city with so many beautiful gardens, you must take the time out of your schedule to get along and visit this park, even if it is just to sit and take a rest from the rest of your tour with a bite of lunch. Great opportunity for photographers as well.

“Pure magic and inspiring beauty deserving of a full day out.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2013

Can you believe this? This park, an Anglo- Chinese gem in western Paris, was born of a bet between Marie Antoinette and the count Artoise in 1775. She won,of-course and the park miraculously materialised in 64 days.
The beauty of the rose beds are internationally recognised with 12,000 varieties on hand to dazzle and delight. But for me,it is the layout of the gardens, its themes, the remarkable trees, follies, exhibitions and concerts that brings you to Bois de Boulogne in the 16th. Dont miss the vegetable displays in the Jardin des Presentateurs, they are remarkable in the array fielded.
There are three buildings on site that demand entry. The chateau,a white edifice of gorgeous proportions was once a hunting lodge with a name that means a trifle or 'little decorative thing'. The Trianon is a pink facaded building where we enjoyed a superb art exhibition and the elegant Orangerie where the Chopin festival is conducted annually.
Catch the Metro to Pont de Neuilly, then bus line 43 or Port maillot, then bus line 244.
This wonderful botanic gem has heaps more engaging things then say Giverny.
