Thanks to my company for sticking me here. Reception unhelpful and untruthful about the reasons why taxis were not available ( it was a strike, they said it was because of fashion week - that is not the case ). Bar closes early (11.30pm tonight). €210 for a night with no breakfast - do me a favour. I get Paris is expensive but this place should not be used unless you are desperate. Room was nothing special but I guess better than those in the uk with "travel" & "lodge" in the name.

Room Tip: Don't stay here

Dear Sir,

First we would like to thank you for staying in our establishment for your trip to Paris. We are sorry that you experienced some difficulties during your stay. Based on your comments, we did an internal investigation in order to know what could have happened.

We decided to start by the taxi matters and as you can see in this newspaper, there was effectively a taxi strike during your stay. http://www.lemonde.fr/economie/article/2014/05/23/des-federations-de-taxis-appellent-a-manifester-le-11-juin_4424798_3234.html

We also wanted to point out that 210€ for a night in Paris in a 4* hotel in Paris is not very expensive but if you add the fact that you arrived right in the middle of the parisian trade-show’s period, I honestly believe that it is a really good price.
Finally we would like to apologise for the Bar being closed at 11h30pm. We generally determinate the opening hours of the bar based on the hours during which our guests use it the most.
Best regards

Hotel Ampere in the 17th district was a new hotel for us and we were not disappointed, we upgraded to a deluxe room on the 7th floor with a slight view of the Eiffel Tower. The decor was very smart and the room accessories such as bathrobe, slippers, soaps, ironing board and safe etc; was a nice touch, along with a bath and a separate walk in shower.
We did not take breakfast as we wanted to experience some of the local cafés so I can not comment on the food, but the bar facilities were a little disappointing in that they offered no Sunday service. Reception was always available and they gave and assisted us with every enquiry.
We thought the 17th was very smart and definitely a peaceful but interesting non-tourist area. We will return to the 17th and to Hotel Ampere again.

The hotel is chic and clean and that's all. The staff is not unfriendly, but definitely not specially friendly and helpful. The rooms are extremely small, and the room entrance is a disaster, you can not enter the room together with your suitcase, either you or the suitcase and that's not 4 stars worth. The breakfast is extremely overpriced.
The location is good, with many bars and restaurants around the hotel (where the Parisians visit) and away from tourist falls. There is a metro station a few meters away from the hotel in front of which and during weekdays (Mo-Fr.) a kind of mobile Cafeteria is located with a very nice vendor and very delicious hot chocolate and coffee to go.
I would not pay the price for another stay in that hotel.

Stayed at this hotel 9-11 May for 3 nights! Location is ok, out of the way of touristic parts of Paris and in a relatively quiet area. Hotel is more like a 2 star for amenities, service and friendliness. Hotel has a small bar if it ever opens. Same applies to the restaurant! You cannot even get a bottle of water if you use up the 2 small bottles available in your room's minibar on an exceptionally high price! Reception staff are very disinterested and willing to help. Rooms are small, and Wifi is never reliable, non-existent most of the times. Being a regular traveller and totally familiar with 4 & 5 star hotels, I would definitely not classify this hotel 4 star!

My husband and I stayed at the Ampere from May 3rd - 5th 2014.
We arrived early at 10.30am due to an early flight from Liverpool UK. We left our luggage at the hotel and went to explore Paris.
Upon arrival at the hotel, the desk staff was not particularly pleasant to us but we ignored it as we were literally just dropping cases off.

When we returned to the hotel late afternoon , new staff were on the desk who were very friendly and much nicer! The lovely gentlemen, who I do not know name of, showed us to our executive room on the 4th floor. He was very professional and welcoming.

The room was lovely, no complaints at all. It was spacious, had a very very comfy bed, bedside tables, free safe, minibar - not free and was pricey, desk with chair, large mirror...and a small terrace/balcony overlooking the garden!!!! That was a bonus...perfect!

The bathroom was spacious aswell with a bath, shower cubicle ( shower was ace - hot water, great pressure, room to move!)toilet, basin and hairdryer. There were l'occitane toiletries which were lovely!

The location of the hotel is great. It is a 15/20 minute walk to the Arc' de Triumphe (we ambled - took longer!) turn left out of hotel, to the end of road, turn right onto Avenue Wagwam then there it is at the end of the road.

The Metro is a 5 minute walk from the hotel...you come out of hotel and turn right, cross over at the roundabout and there it is - easy!

The metro system is easy to use once you work out route. BEWARE OF PICKPOCKETS - MY IPHONE WAS STOLEN ON OUR WAY BACK FROM SACRE COUER (NOT SPELT RIGHT)..BE CAREFUL.

The hotel was ideal and we want to go back to Paris so we will use the Ampere again. Book in advance direct with the hotel for good discounts.

Enjoy the city!

Room Tip: Book early direct with hotel for best rates.

My husband and I had a very nice 6 night stay at this hotel. The location is great. Very nice area of Paris, away from most tourists, a lot of dining options and right by the metro and RER station. The hotel staff wss always nice and spoke English. Our room was small for American standards (but on the large size for Parisian standards). Very clean and comfortable.

My wife and I spent 5 days in Paris to celebrate our Ruby Wedding, and the Ampere suited us admirably. Stayed on a "room only" basis in a very spacious and quiet room at the rear of the hotel, overlooking a small garden area. Check in was swift and the staff very helpful. The room was spotlessly clean with adequate space for storage of clothes etc.Tea and coffee making facilities available in situ.. Large bathroom with separate toilet. Location, as many have already commented, is excellent situated as it is in a nice quiet ,"non- touristy" area of the city. The Metro access (Pereire station) is literally 2 minutes away - we purchased a 5 day metro ticket and boy did we get our moneys worth!! Easy system to navigate. Never felt intimidated. Service runs 'til 1:15 am. Arc de Triomphe/ Champs Elysee, Place de la Concorde - all within easy walking distance of hotel (20 minutes from Arc D T.).
Lots of good restaurants in close proximity, from formal to Bistro. Strongly recommend "The Grand" bistro, 50 yards from hotel. very popular with visitors and locals alike.
Highly recommended.
