Clean but basic 2 star hotel. Handy for the Eurostar. Metro close by. May not be suitable for young families as the Hotel is located in the red light district. Staff friendly and helpful.

On arrival, there were two green wheelie bins in the foyer - a foretaste of the hotel experience. Throughout the three-day stay there was an cleaning gear cupboard open in the foyer.
The bedroom was cramped, superficially clean but dirty in the detail - for example, the radiator grilles and the net curtains. There was no drawer space provided at all, just one 2 1/2 foot by 1 foot alcove with half a dozen coat hangers on a rail for both of us and our luggage. Decor was 1970's chic. There was one pillow on each side of the bed with one spare pillow in the top of the aforementioned alcove. There was no waste bin in the bedroom, just a very small one in the bathroom. Street noise was excessive, even with the window closed. As there was no air conditioning, leaving the window closed was not a preferred option. There was a fan provided but it turned out to be non-operational. On taking it down to reception the young lad merely gave a rather expert gallic shrug and I returned to the room empty-handed.
The bathroom had a shower cubicle with a (torn) shower curtain that was too large so that showering involved the experience of being embraced by a clammy mass of nylon. The hot tap on the sink was almost completely seized and I got plenty of exercise wrestling with it until there was enough water forthcoming to wash my hands. The sink plug did not lift properly so that water took a long while to drain away. Hand towels were not provided, but the management seemed to have attempted to address this shortcoming by providing bath towels that were almost as small as hand towels. On the last day, no towels were provided at all and it took the manager considerable effort to drag himself away from the football match on the television in order to go off and find some for me.
The breakfast was the piece de resistance, in the local parlance. There were no plates provided - just sheets of paper on which were tastefully dumped a portion of jam - cheap label, a portion of cheese spread - cheap label, a portion of butter and two sugar lumps. Breakfast, when delivered, was a croissant each and a piece of french stick. The coffee was warm, not hot. The one good thing was that the orange juice appeared to be freshly squeezed. Unfortunately it was squeezed into a very small glass.
All-in-all, a memorable stay for all the wrong reasons and the worst stay of many in Paris.
Our stay was fantastic. The hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable including using their car without question or compensation to transport us in an emergency. Close to Metro, lots of good restaurants in area.
Booked this hotel as a package through Eurostar. The location was very convenient (15 min walk from Gare Du Nord) 2 mins from Pigalle Metro. The room was small a bit tatty but clean and comfortable for a short break. Breakfast was included in the price it consisted of a bagette, croussiant, coffee and orange juice, not very exciting but we found it adequate. The area around the hotel is interesting in one direction you have the notorious Pigalle but there are also lots of nice bars and restaurants nearby in Monmartre
hotel was really small, tiny stairs and even smaller rooms.
we couldn't get a good temperature in our rooms, it was either really cold or really hot.
i would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget, but i would NOT recommend the neighborhood. We were two girls in Paris and it was really scary, almost all the time. We got comments everywere we went, and at night it was really unpleasant. The metro station nearby, Pigalle is not nice place to be at dark.
Another bad thing about the neighborhood was that there were no cafées nearby, only sex-shops, haha.
Elderly married couple, Russia, 19-29 sept. 2009. It took place 21. 09.2009. On simple request not to cover a dusty bedspread the manager said, that if we do not like, we may move to another hotel, and almost arranged a fight. It was paid for the room in advance and fully. 5 days later sent a chocolate as a gift which we did not accept. The sanitary equipment was in cracks, the room was not repaired during many years, coffee was of low quality, we even refused from breakfasts. It was very noisy because of motor cycles. 18.10.2009.
