“Basic good hotel in great location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013

Clean room, friendly staff, great location. Rooms are tired and old but it doesn't matter as they are clean and spacious. Beds a little hard but that is better than soft in my opinion. Would stay there again.

This hotel is a hidden jewel in Paris! It is a 5 min walk to the Louvre - VERY Central. The staff are very pleasant and accommodating, it is just a delight to stay there. The rooms are dated but very very clean. Prices are from 110 - 165 euros per night making it very affordable for the location. We have stayed there twice in the last 4 years and both times were were 100% satisfied.

Room Tip: Book on Line (they have excellent internet prices.

Stayed there twice (6 nights total) in last 3 weeks. Great value for the prime location, including <15 min walk from the Roissy bus. Nothing sketchy about the area at all; right beside Best Western Opera but much cheaper. Basic older but very clean accommodation and nice staff. Breakfast at 10E is good value relative to prices at nearby cafe's. Local supermarket (Franprix) 2 min walk away. For great affordable food try Le Mesturet just up the road or Bistro Victoires around the corner. An excellent, safe choice, highly recommended.

We're just back from a city break to Paris. The city itself is amazing! But you can read up on that anywhere. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, speaking excellent English (which was a bonus as our French is very basic). Rooms are large and clean with plenty space to hang clothes. It was very hot when we were there but there is a fan in the room. We also included the breakfast, which is continental but by no means meagre. Lovely fresh croissants and rolls, with plenty of coffee/tea and juices, cheese and yoghurts...set us up for the day. This hotel has charachter with it's tiny cage lift and high ceilinged rooms, to it's hobbit toilets in the rooms. (Our bathroom, however, was large and modern). We would recommend staying here, not just for the hotel and staff, but it's excellent location...from here you can walk almost anywhere in Paris.

We stayed here for the weekend when France played Wales in the Six Nations Championship. Rooms were clean and very large...didn't have breakfast included but the Louvre is literally a 3 min walk from this hotel and a fantastic cafe is opposite where breakfast is reasonably priced. Unfortunately there was quite a lot of building work going on whilst we were there so we didn't see the hotel in all it glory, but when it is upgraded I'm sure it will be magnificent.

This hotel is located a 3 minute walk from the Louvre. This is very handy if you are determined to see the more famous works in the Louvre as you should show up before it opens to get in line. The side street that it is located on may seem a bit sketchy but we saw no problems when we were there. If you like walking, this hotel is close enough to the Eiffel Tower and most other major attractions. If you prefer something more relaxing, there are hop on hop off buses that run right past the Louvre.

There is a lovely park located a short walk away and many cafes and restaurants in the square.

The hotel itself is quite nice but a bit run down. The desk staff was very friendly and provided lots of good answers and advice on touring around even though we spread very little French.

There is a lift in this hotel but it was very small and I didn't attempt to get myself and my bag in at the same time.

The room we had was quite small and included a sink and a shower with a shared toilet down the hall. This was our first experience with shared bathrooms and it was not as big of a deal as feared to be. Just remember to bring something you can throw on for those middle of the night pees!

The room had a large opening window looking down onto the street which was lovely for watching people and getting some air movement in the room. There was no a/c but a fan was provided. The small street can get quite noisy with people and vehicle traffic early in the morning so sleeping with the window open is only advised if you are a heavy sleeper or have earplugs. The room itself was clean and well furnished.

All in all, a nice little hotel that was just what we needed for two days of sightseeing in Paris.
