“I adore this place”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

This hotel was recommended by a family friend who frequents Paris and stays here every time. I couldn't be more grateful! This hotel is tucked away on a side street in Paris, but it is beautiful and interesting, and it is a perfect location, right behind the Louvre. The room was very small, as expected in Paris, and it is a shared shower, also as expected. The price is very reasonable for a safe, interesting, clean place to stay in the heart of Paris. If I ever make it back, I will assuredly stay here again.

Room Tip: The elevator is tiny. :)

Stayed here for two nights in july. Was very surprised that it was so close to the Louvre yet so inexpensive. It rained the whole time we were there so we didn't need air con, but could imagine it being very stuffy in the heat.

We were on the 5th floor in a small, very clean double room with no view and a equally small toilet/shower. The cleaners came in every day, the bed was very comfortable and the staff were friendly. Couldn't ask for more for the price.

This is rated as a two star hotel and is very reasonably priced for central Paris - and it really is in a fantastic location right next to the Louvre and in easy walking distance to many attractions and to 2 metro stations and the Seine. We had a quadruple room near the top of the building which made getting luggage up fun in the tiny - but authentic old Paris - lift. In fact that was the general impression -old world Paris: typical skyline view from the window, busy side street, quaint. The paintwork was faded in the room (reception areas fine) but comfortable, a good size even with 4 of us, clean and with free wifi and more than 2 star standard in our view. Certainly value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful and were patient with my French, although all spoke excellent English. The breakfast was 'continental' i.e. not cooked food but there was plenty of it with nice fresh bread and croissants, a great selection of cheeses and cereals, and good coffee. We returned to Paris a few weeks later and stayed at a 3 star hotel nearer to the Gare du Nord and wished we had booked in back here and just taken a taxi! Can't recommend it highly enough for value for money and location. Would also recommend the nearby Bistrot Richelieu - an easy walk away.

This is a terrific, central and affordable family run, boutique hotel for a week at least!
Located about 5 minutes walk from the Louvre and walking distance to most things except the Eiffel Tower, Monmatre and Versailles; that's where the 2 handy metro stations come in!
Antique, but effective one person lift adds to its charm.
Our room was aesthetically a bit jaded, but roomy enough for luggage and space. They seem to be in the process of giving the hotel a makeover, judging by the ritzy, contemporary foyer and reception area!
Very clean. Decent bathroom.
WIFI okay. Had to pay extra for safe.
Staff mostly wonderful, but one let the side down badly.
The younger ones were particularly obliging and went out of their way to assist!
All spoke excellent English!
No 5 star views, but windows opened onto Rue De Richelieu. Tres Paris!
Area felt safe at night.
Avoid the rip-off laundry service diagonally opposite. Instead walk one more block away from the Louvre along Rue de Richelieu for the standard laundromat, otherwise you too could end up paying over 100 Euros to have your washing done!
A great base from which to enjoy the best Paris has to offer and save a fortune on public transport costs, if you enjoy walking!

Room Tip: Ask for view onto street

We were welcomed at the hotel and promptly shown our room. I had booked the family room for 2 adults and 2 kids and the room was surprisingly spacious with a double bed and 2 single beds and still leaving room to move around and store 4 suitcases. The bathroom is a decent size with both a bath and shower. Breakfast is available, however we chose to rather go to one of the many cafes located a short walk away (80-100m). The biggest selling point however was the location, one block from the Louvre makes it a perfectly central location for sightseeing. We used both the municipal bus service and metro - both within a short walk from the hotel. The reception is open 24 hours a day and the staff were most helpful taking time to give recommendations for dining and sightseeing routes. With free wifi and a shuttle service it ticks all the boxes. There is a taxi rank about 80m from the hotel too for those needing to take a taxi.

Room Tip: We had room 4 on the first floor. It was large but no view at all. The windows looked out onto a c...

We stayed 3 nights in the quad room #32. The location of this hotel is fantastic, but that's where the positives end. The room is very old and in desperate need of a Reno, creaky floors, old rickety wardrobe doors which I thought were going to collapse. Shower/bath recess is full of mould. No mini bar to store drinks. But the heat in this room was absolutely horrible. Try The Citadines 30mtres. Down the road
