“Stay at your own peril.”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Oh dear where to start... this is an honest review of a well travelled backpacker. In all honesty the double room was fine, there were clean sheets and a bathroom with shower which was clean to. The mayor issue with this 'hotel' is the location. The streets are filthy, there have been two riots in the neighbouring streets the two days we've stayed here (one which was on the French news). The streets are littered with dodgy guys selling fake goods and stolen items such as hand bags and phones. The 'market' has traders that go running like cockroaches when the police appear (no prizes for guessing why). The local stores ie KFC closed 3 hours before time because of riots. This place is honestly a dump. I feel sorry for anyone who has booked a room. We've stayed in bad hotels in Paris ie 'hotel Richard' but it is a paradise compared to here. I feel sorry for the hotel because honestly it's clean and cheap, which is all backpackers want. Just a shame about the disgusting streets around it.

Very dirty & unsafe place to stay. Not suitable for family. Very noisy. Rooms and toilet needs refurbishment. You can see all the damage in each rooms including the toilet. Top sheets very dirty. Not washed properly.

Room Tip: Needs complete refurbishment. Needs to checked and clean regularly.

Absolutely disgusting right next door to a mosque there's rubbish everywhere and the street is filthy! The free wifi did not work unless u stood at reception literally. The staff were really nice but that's all that was nice about this hotel

The neighborhood was not safe. Everything was dirty. Wifi not working. Staff was helpful to say the least. Location is not near the main road. Curtains seemed not to be cleaned. No elevator. Everything was run down. You cannot call this place a hotel. Will not stay here again.

This hotel is located on a side street, about three or four blocks off the main road, in Montmartre. The surrounding area appeared to be only marginally safe during the day and very risky after about 20:00. People traveling alone (either men or women) and families with children should think twice about the safety aspects before staying here! The hotel itself was clean and well-secured. Someone was on duty at the main entrance 24 hours a day--round the clock supervision was needed, given the dodgy nature of the outside environment. Our room was en-suite and the bathroom was in good order. The rooms were accessed by climbing a very steep and narrow spiral staircase. There was no elevator. Think twice about booking here if you plan to carry a heavy suitcase! There was a LOT of noise outside in the street, during the day and throughout the night. The windows were thick, however, and did a pretty good job of keeping the inside quiet. Our room was reasonably-priced for what it included (two twin beds, a night stand, a television set, an armoire, and a clean bathroom). But I would not have stayed here had I been aware of the seediness and apparent danger of the area. (I lived in Africa for eight years and stayed in similar but unavoidable hotels in Liberia, Nigeria, Congo, and other terrible places, so I am not a hyper-nervous traveler.)

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the premier etage (second floor).

If you're looking for luxury this is the wrong hotel for you, but if you want clean, cheap and cheerful, FM hotel is really good value for money. Close to the Gare du Nord it is also highly convenient

Room Tip: Ask for a room on one of the lower floors, unless you are a Sherpa! There's no lift and the sta...

It is very cheap hotel and looks like accordingly. Receptrion smell really oddly. The street where the hotel is situated is most "black" street in paris and when we arrived arround midnight it was quite scary. Staff is very friendly on other hand and speak english very well - that´s big plus. We have room 24 and it was horrible - not only by equipment but dirty as well.
Hotel is very near to city center or undeground..
