Stayed here last weekend, had phoned a couple of weeks before to ask for a nice room and was assured by reception that all the rooms were large and people even commented that they hoped they were not paying the suite rate. On arrival we checked into our room, which just fitted a double bed and it smelled of smoke, being non smokers we asked to change, 2nd room was odourless and a little bigger. Hotel decor and corridor music were just bordering on bordello............ on checking out we went to pay bill and were told that we have subscriped to pay tv, which we did not watch and maybe had pressed a button by mistake, he said that it explained that if you press a button on the remote you automatically went into pay tv and that this was explained when you turned on the telly, unfortunatley this was in FRENCH, we felt that this was a ploy used by the hotel to get a futher 15 euro from residents - so watch out if you use your tv. Bathroom was good size and clean and a good size and the hotel was centrally located so good value at the rate of Euros 80 per room.

Stayed at the Pavillon Opera Grands Blvd in early December 2004. I had expected a very nice modern room given the descriptions I had seen on various travel sites. On the positive side, the hotel was refurbished just a couple of years ago and it is two blocks from a metro station.
Depending on your preferences you may or may not like the location. It sits in the middle of a mid-market tourist area. Very crowded. Lots of Americans. Also, lots of restaurants, pastry shops, shops, etc. On the down side, it looked like they hadn't done much maintenance since the remodel. Our faucet was broken and we had to use two hands to turn on the water. If we didn't, it dislodged from the sink. The elevator was filled with graphiti (sp?) scratched into funky gold paint. Room was small, bathroom was good size. Coverlets had some staining, which I found disturbing. I did like the fact that each room has climate control (rare in Paris). I might stay here in the future, but only if I got a great deal!

Having stayed in Paris last week in record breaking heat, I thanked my lucky stars I had booked at this hotel! At the last minute I changed my bookings thru a discount site as this hotel had air conditioning. Besides that, the rooms were well furnished with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms, the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the air conditioner worked a treat 24/7!! Good location, a pleasant walk to the Louvre and the Seine if it wasn't 43C! Definately recommend, better if you can book thru a discount site as their rack rate is quite expensive.

Room Tip: Demander où est placée la TV si c'est important pour vous. Demander une chambre côté cour car d'un calme absolu.
