What an excellent hotel this is ... we were advised of this hotel through a relative who had stayed before and we are glad she did . the location is excellent , so close to great little bars and restaurants. the staff were extremely helpful and it was so easy to get around ,either by walking or the Metro. Hope to come back again soon.
Baz and Cath....

Room Tip: try and get a room with a balcony facing Rue des ecoles...

What a great little gem of a hotel this is - 36 rooms, wonderfully situated in the Latin quarter of Paris a movie star once filmed here! 19th century building with modern comforts and little balconies overlooking the local streets. Amazing painted murals - even in some of the bedrooms! Just a short stroll to the Rive Seine and bateaubus stop, Notre dame and masses of other interesting sites - surrounded by university buildings so cheaper meals out!
The staff - almost universally nice and helpful - only one slightly grouchy receptionist. I was impressed by the help I had via e mails before we even arrived - prices and information re excursions, and they prebooked the transfer bus for the four of us from Charles de Gaulle airport, 20 euros each, [be aware that this can be shared with other travellers]. The bonus was arrive after dark and you do your tour of Paris by night en route to the hotel! It looked fantastic all lit up.
The rooms do vary we opted for a triple as we always have masses of luggage! A spare bed gives you room to put things. some wardrobes were tiny in other rooms - even an upgraded luxury one had a very small built in cuboard. Some rooms were a lot smaller than others. What i would say is contact the hotel and they will do their best to accommodate your preferences - we wanted a front street view with a balcony and got one. Our bathroom was full of classy toiletries, a hairdryer and fantastic shower [I did think it was for pigmies until my husband pointed out the second overhead monsoon head!] Typically French there are no tea making kettles in the room - pack your own.
Beware of the lift as it snaps shut very quickly as you enter or exit. We didnt use it but I understand you can get wireless in the hotel. Next to reception is a "bar" which you can buy a drink at but didnt operate as a bar as I had imagined ie full of people drinking. There was always a full bowl of sweets by the sofas there - sorry we ate all the flumps!
Breakfast was pricey - and served downstairs in the basement - no lift there so not suitable if your mobility is poor. It did offer a wide selection but at 14 euros plus another 3 if you wanted egg this put it in the bracket of local cheap dinners! We varied what we did and sometimes walked up the street the the nearby american breakfast diner!
The staff will book excursions but to be honest not necessarily the cheapest way to do this. Prebook bateabus /tourbus and buy a museum pass if you want to do lots of exploring. You can wander out of the hotel and find several nice little restaurants/bars only a stones throw away.

In summary yes i would stay there again -the location for us was fantastic - prices start from 184 euros a night for the top floor of the hotel [lift only goes to 5th floor!} but rates via internet can be a lot less. August is the quietiest period and as the hotel has really good airconditioning this might be a great time to visit.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the front of the hotel with a balcony

A cracking boutique hotel in an excellent location, this was our second trip to Paris and we will definitely use this hotel again. We booked a superior room which gave us a king size bed and although Parisian hotel rooms are very small this one was perfectly formed with a very modern bathroom and a lovely balcony. We did not take breakfast in the hotel because I always feel they are over priced and it is far more fun going out to one of the many local boulangeries! The staff were extremely helpful, with a very fast check in and out. I love this area, you are within a few steps of some lovely restaurants and cafes and close to the Metro and Taxi rank to get around. We love Paris and look forward to returning!

My 3rd time to Paris. Area was great. Close to a metro but the stop took multiple transfers for anywhere we were trying to get to. We did not do their breakfast--- bfast was overpriced and the hotel is located near to plenty of boulangeries ( including one of these ones http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g187147-d1153247-Reviews-Eric_Kayser-Paris_Ile_de_France.html) . We could simply stop in on our way to the metro and get a couple croissants and pain au chocolats.
Decor was cheesy but that was one of the reason's I chose it. Room was a decent size for Paris ( we stayed in a Superior Double). Bed was HUGE and I thought it took up way too much room.
Bathroom was very modern--shower small.
I requested a balcony and they did give us one that did not look onto anything particular but just the cute Parisian streets below.
Price is what to be expected for what you get. Not a budget place but we were only staying in Paris for a couple of nights so we wanted to splurge just a bit. If you're looking for budget and staying for more than 3 nights, I'd recommend renting an apartment (which is what we did last time we were In Paris for 5 nights).

Beautiful room on the 5th floor, small but beautifull with amazing view to Notre dame and old building around. Last floor can be reached with stairs only but price for this room is 50EUR less then rooms below. Location of this hotel is excellent, breakfast is not included in price so we had breakfast in bars around. Every morning other one. Great vacation in Paris.... Love it.
