We stayed for four fabulous nights in march, it was our first trip to Europe and a great way to start our journey with such friendly helpful staff full of excellent local advise. Great central location so close to the metro yet walking distance to famous sights too. A big thanks!!

I went to Paris with my boyfriend and we searched for a hotel that covered the basic needs as we knew we would be out all day long sight-seeing. Hotel Americain is perfect for this. We stayed in room 205 which is small, but the beds are comfortable and the shower was warm all the time. We were facing the front but noise from the outside was minimal. We also got good wifi connection in this room. Breakfast was quite basic and the same everyday. Although there are plenty of cafés around the area to pick up some food if needed. It would be useful if the room had a mini fridge as we couldn't keep drinks or snack cold.
Place de la Republique is only a 5 minute walk away and has loads of different restaurants and a metro station, so it's very easy to travel around. The staff are also happy to call taxis for you. Many other sights are within walking distance, with beautiful streets along the way. We walked to the Notre Dame in about 20 minutes with the help of a map the hotel staff gave us.
The staff were all lovely and really helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel as a base for sight-seeing holidays.

The staff were great. I had booked a tour with a transfer. The transfer was running late. They called the hotel to say the driver had a crash. As soon as this happened the staff member called a cab and then explained to the drive what had happened and where to go. All at 6 am on a Sunday. The hotel is in a good spot, not to far from the metro, restaurants are not that far away. The room was good and clean.

My boyfriend and I went to Paris for New years. We got a brilliant deal through thomas cook and decided that all we needed was a room to sleep so weren't fussy about star rating. The hotel was perfect for what we wanted. If you just want a base, minutes from a metro station then this hotel is perfect. We didn't have any complaints about the room itself and the breakfast was adequate. Highly recommend to those who are going with the sole purpose of sight seeing.

My wife and myself stayed here in early December and found the hotel to be basic but clean. Staff greeted us pleasantly on arrival and were most helpful with directions and assisting with our tourist demands and questions.
We had a room on the 7th floor in a basic room with a comfortable bed and bathroom. The Great thing about the place is its close location to the transport system meaning that it was very easy to get about the city.
We had a continental breakfast on each of the five mornings we were there and found it to be adequate, however the immense array of restaurants, bars and cafés within walking distance if the hotel will give anyone an abundance of choices if they wish.
Wifi was great in the lobby however in the rooms tended to be a bit temperamental.
I would have preferred to have a mini fridge to keep some supplies of my own however, not sure if that is available as we did not ask.
Overall a great experience especially for our first trip to this beautiful city.

Room Tip: Make sure bed is large enough and comfortable and that bathroom is clean and cleaned regularly .

We spent three nights in Hotel Americain in mid-September and were really happy. The location is very good with numerous Metro lines close by, and just a stone's throw from République where just about anything can be found. The room was small but had very comfortable beds and was very clean. We had a twin room on sixth floor, facing the backyard, and it was absolutely quiet at night. Breakfast was OK with coffee/tea, juice, bread rolls and fresh croissants.

We felt safe in the area, and everything is either on a walking distance or just a short Metro ride away. I would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: I prefer a room facing the backyard to avoid traffic noise.

This was mine and my husbands first ever visit to Paris and we weren't disappointed with this wonderful city.
We stayed at the hotel Americain on a bed and breakfast basis for three nights and found our stay to be pleasant.

This hotel was very basic but suited us perfectly. We had a small minimal room with hardly enough room to walk around really. But the nice clean sheets and comfy bed made up for it. We were in room 404 which had a nice view out onto the street, was nice to have the window open and hear the gentle buzz of people about.

Reception staff were great. Spoke fantastic English and were really helpful.

Local area was perfect only a two minute walk from hotel to the Republic Metro station. Some nice restaurants and cafés locally too.

On the whole we thought that this hotel was a great place to stay at an affordable price. And would recommend this hotel for people that would rather spend their money on sight seeing and experiencing Paris than in expensive luxury accommodation.
