As under 26 EU resident entry was free- so I don't want to complain too much, but the cues and crowds here were frustrating. Cued for nearly an hour to get into the gallery, hardly the tranquility Monet was designing.

Water lilies were stunning, panoramic experience is a great way to experience these.

Frida & Diego temporary exhibit down stairs was really interesting too. The content was thorough and fascinating, but it was so frustrated to be in such a crowd of people. Hardly able to stop and enjoy the art, or get near enough to read labels, watch videos etc.

A real shame.

Thank Nhendo

This is a major stop for Monet fans, perhaps less so for those who think that certain aspects of Impressionism were triumphs of marketing more than art. Even if you count yourself among the latter group, you still might want to catch the Guillaume collection, which counts a number of fine works. There is invariably a special exhibit attached to the museum as well, and these are oftentimes worth catching. Ultimately, your estimation of this museum will rise or fall on how much you love the art it contains. Or how much you've been told you should love it.

Keep in mind the museum doesn't seem to have a café, so fill the tank before going, especially if you plan to be there for awhile. There are allegedly plenty of (no doubt pricey) cafés in the Jardin de Tuileries, but few seem to be greatly beloved by Tripadvisor readers.

long queues to get in but for the remarkable rooms of the waterlily paintings it would not be worthwhile but but you must go.

I have always loved Monet and we came to the Musee del'Orangerie to see the Monet panels. Truly a moving experience!

I always love Monet's Waterlilies and the children found them amazing. Even the size is impressive. The rest of the gallery is a mixture of amazement and shock - depending on the art style you are looking at. Beware of the queues - go early. We didn't and had to wait a while despite having line saver tickets.
