“Monet”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Excellent collection of Monet. A smaller museum which has a slightly earlier opening time, which makes it perfect to squeeze in before a trip to Muess d'Orsay or the Louvre.

“The Monet Murals”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

l'Orangerie is a small but stylish gallery on the bank of the Seine in the old orangery of the Tuileries Palace on the Place de la Concorde. Beware it has long queues. Luckily we purchased our ticket in advance at the Paris Visitor centre but we still had to wait at the security line.

The art gallery has impressionist and post-impressionist paintings, it is most famous for being the permanent home for eight Water Lilies murals by Claude Monet that are the highlight of the gallery. You can sit and admire the paintings for a long time as it has a hypnotic quality.

It also has works by Cézanne, Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, Rousseau as well as others but it is the Monet that are the star attraction.
