This hotel really was a good find. The room was a good size & very comfortable & the reception service was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel. In our room were plenty of good guides about Paris which were useful & a really nice touch was the Easter egg we were given on Easter sunday.
The location is great for all the main attractions & places to eat & drink. The price of alcohol in Paris has to be seen to be believed & all the places we went nearby were expensive. The hotel restaurant ( Cafe Latin ) on the opposite side of the street to the hotel is very good & we had an excellent meal with great service there.
This hotel is a nice antidote to all the bed factory hotels which are the same world over, this hotel is very individual & small enough to offer great service!

After a wonderful stay at its partner hotel, Residence des Arts, we opted for a 3 night stay at the Villa d'Estrées this time. Again, we couldn't have been more pleased. The care taken by all the staff to make sure our needs were met stands out as a characteristic of this charming old property. While the building is historically old, the rooms are beautifully decorated, the beds comfortable, and the lobby/breakfast area charming. The hotel is centrally located for both walking around Paris and reaching most Metro/RER lines. We will be back.

This charming boutique hotel is located in the center of Paris, in the heart of the Latin Quarter famous for its intellectual and artistic circles, at a stone's throw from Notre-Dame, Le Louvre, and the banks of the river Seine. This hotel is a must for those who love the streets of the Left Bank Latin Quarter filled with history and adventure.
I was charmed by this little haven of luxury that offers a warm service and highest quality comfort.
Extreme style is one of the main attributes of this place, decorations are inspired of Napoleonic ages. I have never before slept in such a large and comfortable bed as I did there. Spacious rooms in full lightening and fabrics make you dream of long gone times. The exclusive residence offers suites that are fully furnished with the latest technical sophistications of the 21st century( safe, minibar, air-conditioning, wi-fi internet access and satellite television).
As you wander around the picturesque and historical streets you will find typical Parisian cafés, restaurants, theaters, bookshops, art and antiques galleries, stores but also some of Paris' finest monuments (Le Louvre, Notre-Dame, and the Musée d'Orsay).

Very nice small hotel 2 mins walk from the metro at St Germain. Lovely big rooms (compared to postage stamps we have stayed in before) Nice comfortable linen & plenty of pillows duvet sheets. Good size bathroom with black tiles & red floor. We had breakfast delivered to our room which arrived on the dot. Bit basic continental ...bread/pasteries plain yoghurt with a raspberry coulie. cornflakes or musili. Coffee & Juice. Would eat out next time. Expensive mini bar. 3 euro for 1 small coke. Hotel in good location, hundreds of restaurants near by.

We found this hotel on the internet and contacted the hotel directly by email to receive the winter special last December (2006).

This is a charming small hotel, with very spacious rooms, charming decorative interior, helpful staff and a great location for a short Paris stay.

I have to admit to being pretty fussy when it comes to hotels .... The hotels I pick have to meet a number of criteria before I will book them ...... and even then I can get it wrong ..... Not So with the Villa D'Estrees ..... what a wonderful find ..... it just ticked all the boxes. Great position a few minutes from the Seine in one direction and the narrow streets filled with shops galleries and cafe's in the other direction. The rooms were large very clean and beautifully decorated .... the street remarkably quiet .... the staff friendly and helpful .... breakfast is served in the reception area as the hotel has no dining room and in fact only 10 bedrooms, two on each floor with a good lift. Just down the road is the Cafe Latin which is owned by the same company .... another little gem .... very busy, very buzzy and great fun ..... staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly .... the food was basic good french cooking.
If you like cheese then try Fromagerie 31 (64 rue de Seine 75006) ..... a little cheese shop with an eating area where they serve a platter of selected cheeses all with labels on them so you will know the name of which cheeses you like, should you wish to buy any. The platters of cheese come with a basket of bread and a salad ... they also serve other cheese dishes and of course wine ..... but the eating area is tiny and gets full very quickly.
When we weren't eating we visited a number of galleries and museums ..... We also visited the Catacombs ...... which were absolutely amazing .... but if you go do wear a hat as water dips down from the ceilings of some of the tunnels also the climb back up the 83 steps was hard work and I consider myself to be pretty fit.
We had a great time in Paris and it made so much difference having such a beautiful hotel to come back to when we needed to recharge our batteries ..... and the Villa D'Estrees WAS a beautiful hotel.

Just came back from Paris and we had a fantastic stay. My wife and I stayed at the Villa d'Estrees for a week and we felt like true Parisians. The hotel is located in the Latin Quarter which is for me the best area in Paris, small streets, etc. Beautiful architecture, small bistros, incredible shopping, and all the monuments in walking distance (the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame...) We loved the fact that there were only two rooms per floor and you feel like you are going to your Paris apartment when you get off the elevator. Superb decoration, great bathroom. If you want a boutique hotel in Paris this is the place to stay.
