“Very nice and comfortable”

Stayed there one night, on a layover in Paris. The place is very well located in a lively street of Paris. I consider it as the best place around Montparnasse station.

I loved the fresh orange juice machine in the breakfast room, and the breakfast in general excellent: even more considering it's a chain hotel which is not a luxury brand, but really this breakfast has nothing to ask to higher-end places. The beds are super comfortable and the location is great: located in a really lively street full of restaurants and theaters, yet you don't hear anything in your room, and it's not crazy with people either: right balance. You literally have 3 metro stations there, so connections couldn't be better.

Wifi is free!! Such a nice suprise, as it wasn't the case before in Mercure hotels!

Friendly staff. Really really happy!

Room Tip: I was in a room between the elevators, and from what I could see, they were bigger than the rest.

My wife and I stayed in the Mercure in March 2012 as we really enjoy the area around Rue de la Gaite in Montparnasse. The hotel is nothing special but it is well located and clean with an extensive and good breakfast buffet but my goodness the wifi. The hotel sells itself on free wifi and it was part of the reason we selected the hotel. The line dropped out time after time (nearly 50 times as I tried to access and reply to emails). When I complained I was told firstly that this was an Orange problem and secondly that Montparnasse had wifi issues but this was not the case in nearby bars.
I would only return if they get their internet connection sorted out.

Room Tip: Try and get a room away from the street as the early morning garbage guys do their noisy work with g...

Located close to the Montparnasse station and the subway, this property is a good option either if you plan to visit Paris or travel across France. Parking is available in the basement, rooms look nice and comfy. Service is not great, breakfast could be better.

Room Tip: Rooms viewing the street are noisier!

Me and my wife stayed at this hotel in August 2011. The hotell has a friendly staff that speak very good english. Rooms are small but sufficient, air condition was very welome on a hot weekend in Paris. The Hotel was a really nice spot to explore Paris from. We had a really nice bicycle trip to the eifel tower to see the sparkling at midnight, really recomended. Breakfast was OK but the staff seemed a litle to busy.

Nice location, nice hotel but ugly service.
As a "Favorite Guess, ACLUB Platinum" I would have expected more attention.
When I mentioned that the priority lane at the reception desk was closed, I was offered, not nicely, to "see" the management.
Breakfast in the room: 3 times: Never was what I ordered. Missing items or wrong items (i.e.tea instead of coffee).
But the hotel is full of tourist, so, why would they care about their regular customers?
