“Excellent Restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

I don't normally write reviews but thought this place deserved a mention! We visited L'Apibo on the 12 April during our trip to Paris. It was near to where we were staying and were encouraged by the reviews on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed! The staff were friendly and helped us with the bits of the menu we couldn't by going through it and explaining each dish. The food was exceptional and really good value considering the quality (photos attached). I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant although I would advise you book in advance if you do not want to be disappointed.

“Over estimated”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2014

Everybody is quite aware that in Paris many times bistrots and restaurants do not get usued to welcome customers in a warm way. This restaurant is allocated at the extreme range. The waiter/owner welcame us (7 people with reservation) with coldness. Definitively they do not speak english, so if you need to understand some part of the menu (good food, similar to nouvelle cuisine) you need a dictionary or a French friend.
I will never come back, but in the same street you fine very good alternative choices

Hello,
Thank you for your comment. I am sorry that you had a bad experience in our restaurant. I am the owner and chef of the restaurant and was in the kitchen that night. I am surprised of your comment about English, as our menu is available in English. As for the cold welcoming, it is indeed very French but we are working on it !
Best regards,
Anthony Boucher

“Hard to fault”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014 via mobile

A charming little restaurant that serves the kind of cuisine you hope to find in Paris. Obviously has a gifted chef on board and he is well supported by charming and attentive waiting staff out front. Having been to other similar restaurants whilst on our weekend in Paris we felt that this place had the edge in terms of value for money. Would recommend unreservedly.

“A memorable Saint Sylvestre meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2014

Christmas Eve and New Years Eve are arguably the two most challenging nights to get a good table in Paris. Apart from the obvious hiking of the prices - usually two to three times the regular rate - not all of the better restaurants are open and those that are, usually squeeze in two sittings, resulting in a less that satisfactory dining experience. Fortunately for us, we managed to secure a booking for L'Apibo at 8.30. on New Years Eve and boy was it a celebratory meal!
We had five wonderful courses, together with an amuse bouche and petit fours and decided to take the wine pairing option and it was all superb.
A velvety artichoke soup, bejewelled with crunchy passion fruit seeds and tiny cubes of good smoked salmon was a great start. This was followed by one of the best silky pieces of foie gras I have ever eaten, swimming in a rich jus with some batons of granny smith apple for texture. A beautifully cooked piece of turbot was the next course with a celery mousseline, garnished with deep fried lettuce - I might have preferred a different vegetable accompaniment to the red cabbage, but a minor quibble. The whites which were served with each of these courses complemented the food beautifully. Then a change to red for the fabulously tender and tasty fillet de biche with it's chervil puree, courgette and chestnut accompaniments. Finally a glass of champagne lent a festive air to the apple dessert which finished off this feast.
The tab of 115 euro was money well spent for the quality of the food, the presentation and the well orchestrated tempo of the charming service on the night. This is a restaurant for those who like to eat well, to cook and to celebrate the care and attention which goes into an excellent meal. A great start to 2014. Merci beaucoup et Bonne Annee L'Apibo!

“Excelent Gourmet food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2014

We were there at the New year´s eve 2013-2014, the menu was really tasty and we appreciated the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant to celebrate this event with my family. Since the presetantion of the dishes to the taste of them, everything was perfect and the service was attentive. When i come back to Paris, certainly I'll be there again.
