Upon arrival, we find out we are on the 3rd floor, elevator broken. It appears the elevator had been broken for awhile. This was a struggle even though a staff member helped somewhat. There is no air conditioning in the hotel and if you leave the windows open at night, there is alot of street noise. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on around you. There is minimal staff, usually 1 or 2 at a time. Only one person we saw actually spoke English (in spite of their advertising). Most of their front desk people were challenged by any language other than French and Chinese. There is no restaurant as advertised. There is a room with tables, a refrigerator and someone to give you bread products, OJ, yogurt and instant coffee for breakfast.
The wifi worked great and there are computers available. Rooms are very small.
Unless you like the barest of amenities, this hotel is not for you. Plus during the hot summer months, the lack of air conditioning is a problem.

Having looked at loads of hotels and reviews, I finally chose this one. Having stayed in Parisian hotels more than once, my expectations were not high. However, this hotel is really clean, the staff are friendly, helpful and prepared to speak English and it is situated about 10 mins from Sacre Coeur in the heart of Montmartre. It is peaceful in the evenings and there is even a small courtyard to sit in. Only 5 mins from the Metro, I would heartily recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a romantic weekend break two weeks ago.
When we arrived we were given a small room on the 4th floor. As the lift was broken we had to cart our luggage up the narrow staircase!! Not too easy when you are 60 and unfit!! My wife on the other hand thought the exercise was just what I needed!!
Fortunately the lift was working again next day.
The room was cramped but adequate. No bath ... which displeased my wife..but I'm a shower person so I was alright Jack ! We watched the 2nd half of the England v Sweden Euro 2012 footy (as you do on a romantic weekend away), anyway it was my birthday...so the TV was much appreciated ...by me.
Breakfast was continental, quite nice for a change...but the breakfast room bears no resemblance to the photos on the website...it looks very smart on the pics, but not in real life.
In fact the whole hotel looks past it's best...certainly needs a makeover!!
Breakfast was served on a tray plonked in front of you....a bit Heath Robinson to be honest..very homely but not very professional!!

However, the great thing about the hotel is it's location. We both love the Montmartre district..plenty of cafe's, restaurants and very busy French townyness. Close to the Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge, Moulin de la Galette, Le Pic, and the artists square up at the Place du Tertre and the funicular railway. There are two metro stations nearby, Blanche and Abesses.
Walk down Le Pic to the Boulevard de Clichy and you can get the Open top bus tours, for the main tourist spots in Paris, the cute little land train to Sacre Couer, or the standard buses.

All in all, the hotel was expensive for what it is...but that's the price you have to pay for the location.

The staff were very friendly and helpful although having piles of dirty laundry left on the side of the stairs doesn't make for a good first impression of their professionalism !!

Two years ago we stayed up the road at the Hotel Le Pic. If we go back to Montmartre next year, I'll probably go for that hotel over Du Moulin.

First time we booked a hotel room in Paris, so don't ask to compare, but we liked the hotel very much.
We had a very spacious 3-person room (instead of the 2-person we booked).
The room was very clean and very comfortable, facing the garden.
But even the street itself is quiet regarding the fact you'r in the hart of the Montmartre area.
Staff was very friendly and helpfull.
We didn't try their breakfast since there are plenty of other oppurtunities in the area.
The only thing that bothered us was early morning noises coming from inside and outside the hotel.

After trying 3 other hotels (on different trips) we have found the perfect hotel in Montmartre! Don't expect posh but this hotel offers good, clean, comfortable accomodation with helpful, friendly staff and excellent continental breakfasts. The making of the stay is the courtyard garden where we enjoyed sitting with a bottle of wine in the evenings. The location is excellent for short walks to Place de Tertre, Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge and public tranport to other areas of Paris.
Montmartre is the best place to come home to after a visit to the centre of Paris. Catch the no 30 bus from Blanche to Trocadero, walk throught the gardens, across the Pont d'Alma to the Tour Eiffel and the Batobus.

Room Tip: Rooms over-looking the garden are quieter.

We stayed at the hotel for five nights and it was very pleasant. The room was clean and the staff very friendly, so there's really not much to complain about. Although one thing that bothered me a bit was that the toilet was not properly attached to the bathroom floor, so you had to sit really still while doing your business. On the other hand I guess you, once seated, don't really have to move around a lot, so it wasn't that big of a problem.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who want's to stay at a nice hotel without having to spend a fortune.
