My family stayed there for 3 nights. Very friendly staff, English speaking. Close (8 minutes walk) to railway station Gare du Nord and metro station Poissoniere (5 minutes walk). We could walk by foot to Louvre - 15 minutes. The hotel has the lift. We can recommend the staying in this hotel. One negative - it was not enough tables for breakfast.

4 night stay with sister. Very helpful and friendly at the reception desk with directions, recommendations for dining, shopping, sight seeing etc. wonderful staff. Hotel is convenient to Metro and RER serving CDG in 2 stops. Pick-up for sightseeing buses just a few short blocks away. Hotel is clean, adequately appointed, equipped with good hair dryer and plentiful counter space in the bathroom. Comfortable beds. Street noise not a problem. Breakfast was typical but good. Great wifi connection in rooms for free. Best part was the staff!

Centralize location near Poissoniere metro and Gare Du Nord train station.

Hotel room was small and comfortable with a small table, chair, wardrobe and a nice soft bed. Could be better if a kettle is provided for making hot drinks. Design of folding class door at the shower hinders movement in and out of it.

Stayed there with my wife for 5 nights just last week. Its a small boutique hotel, with a lift.

The hotel is over the corner of the street, somewhat obscure and you could walk past it without realizing its there. Because it is at a corner building, the rooms are of uneven sizes. I booked a double room but was given the smallest of the lot in my level - 502. Watch out for rooms ending with "02"... very small.

Its been recently refurbished, but the doors are a tad tight with no door viewer, so you can't actually see who you're opening the door for if someone knocks.

The room itself was small and the bed as a little too soft for my liking.

Nonetheless, it is a very convenient location to base your visits to around Paris, within walking distance of Gare Du Nord, and within 100m away from the nearest metro stop which makes it really convenient. It's also got a monoprix supermarket just downstairs that opens till 10pm, which is super for just grabbing stuff when you feel like it.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms ending with "02"

This hotel is less than a 10 minute walk from Gard Du Nord station – making it perfect if you are getting the Eurostar into the city. I was initially a little unsure of staying in this area as I had done so about 10 years ago and it had been awful – dirty, felt unsafe etc – but they have really cleaned up this area. Although not perhaps as smart as some of the more central areas it was more than acceptable – quite a few bars and restaurants and cafes etc. – much cleaner and felt safe walking back to the hotel in the early hours.

The hotel itself was very easy to find – and receptionist was friendly and the lobby was clean and modern. We arrived at around midday but our room wasn’t ready and we were asked to come back at 2pm – they locked away our luggage for safe keeping – so we went and had a coffee and a snack at the cafe round the corner and returned at 2.30pm.

Check in was easy – but when we got to our room it wasn’t ready so then they had to allocate us a new room – which they did quickly.

The room itself is very small but adequate for a short stay – we were only staying the one night so basically needed just somewhere to sleep and shower so this was fine – however, if your trip is much longer than a couple of days, space may be an issue. The wardrobe won’t hang more than about 5 items and a big case would get in the way. The room was clean and functional though. The bathroom was TINY but again, functional and very clean but if you have lots of lotions and potions there isn’t anywhere much to put them.

Other facilities in the room – small wall mounted flat screen TV, safe, hairdryer in the bathroom, mini fridge (which didn’t seem to work/or was unplugged) & reading lights.

All in all a nice hotel for a short stay.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for giving us a 5! and for sharing your comments on Tripadvisor regarding your recent stay at the Art hotel Lafayette.

we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and that our staff took such great care of you. It means a lot to us . Everyone works so hard and it is so nice to see them receive such wonderful recognition.

About our mini fridge in the room , there is functional, you had just to report at reception and then we go up to your room for plugging the fridge.
On the size of the room it is true that the rooms in Paris are not very large, it is unfortunately a fact that buildings do not necessarily allow for large room.

Everyone at Hotel Art hotel Lafayette is honored that you took time to share your thoughts, and we look forward to a return visit soon for your next trip in Paris.

Do not hesitate to contact us for your future reservations.

Kind regards,

Ada
