After an extensive search on Trip Advisor for a Paris hotel within our budget and in a good location we struck gold.
.
Hotel France Albion is easily reached from 2 metro lines, has a variety of neighbourhood restaurants, a nearby supermarket .
Our queen room overlooked the street ( which was our choice), had excellent air conditioning, a fridge and when the windows were closed, very little street noise.
The staff were friendly and helpful and all had excellent English.
It was great to be staying in a local neighbourhood and see the locals go about their lives with few tourists about.
When we reluctantly left this hotel, it was only a short cheap taxi ride to Gare du Nord.
When we next visit Paris, the France Albion will be our hotel of choice.
We have stayed in many hotels during our travels and this is a real winner.

Room Tip: Queen room facing the street.

Pros: Front desk staff and location are great. Henri, in particular, was very charming and helpful.
Cons: Very warm in common area and rooms.
Location: Close to 2 Metro stops and lots of local food vendors and restaurants on Rue des Martyrs which is the next street over. Easy walk to Sacre Coeur. Not a touristy area.

First time in Paris, so no frame of reference for Paris hotels or what a 2 star hotel in Paris tends to be, but I would characterize this hotel as a bit less comfortable and a lot less polished than a Hampton Inn or Comfort Suites in the States and more basic and more homely than a 3 star hotel in New York. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful, both prior to and during our stay. All staff members spoke excellent English and helped us book a van from the airport in advance and arranged museum passes. Hotel in general is very clean and quiet, but displays a bit of an air of shabby gentility. Clearly an effort has been made to make the most of things, but hotel is a bit run down and space is tight in the common areas and the rooms. Our bathroom, however, was quite large--almost as large as our room. After staying in more central tourist areas in Italy and seeing the sites in Paris, really came to appreciate the residential feel of this hotel's location. It was very nice to escape the crowds in the evenings.

Thank you for your comment. All the hotel is air conditionned (rooms and lobby) so normaly the temperature is cool. the lobby will be enterely renovated next winter for the disability standards that change in France. Some rooms (classic double rooms cheapest one in the hotel) are old but as you said it is clean. I invite you to come back in next 2 years to see the changes.
Best Regards

My partner and I stayed in a double room on the fifth floor. Fantastic location walking distance to almost everything, including Gare du Nord and Saint-Georges local metro. Plus opposite a supermarket, next to a bar, a few doors down from a cafe and just a couple of minutes walk from a laundromat. The room was clean and comfortable with double-glazed windows and block-out curtains. Small, but it's Paris. Can't comment on the heating, but the air conditioner was fantastic given the warm weather. And the staff were so friendly and helpful! I would definitely come again and recommend to others!

Considering most hotels in Paris are rather pricey, I think this hotel was totally value for money.

There're three metros nearby, and Notre Dame de Lorette/St Georges are only 2 mins walk away. There's a convenient Carrefour right opposite, though if you see that the shutters are down, you probably have to walk round the street to the entrance on the other side.

The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful too. They can converse brilliantly in English and will gladly assist you if you have got any needs. We were suffering from jetlag on our first day and to our horror, we slept right till 11+pm. Desperate for some food and water, the staff then directed me to a grocery store less than 5 minutes away.

Location wise I definitely do not have much to complain. There're plenty of eateries nearby and if you can walk, you can walk all the way to Montmarte like their staff suggested us to. Otherwise, the metro is a convenient way to travel. Yup, their staff can recommend you places if you have no idea where to go to.

Only complaint is that the corridors are kind of narrow and the lift scared us. Would always jerk before the door closed. Took us some time to get used to it.

This was a great budget hotel efficiently designed and run with cheery and helpful staff. I got a very good deal via Expedia that was $130 CDN per night for a single, including the buffet breakfast. For Paris, this is a good price. The room was predictably teensy tiny, as other reviews indicate, but actually very well laid out, as opposed to other Paris hotels I've stayed in. Beautifully clean. Single bed was very comfortable and an interesting and convenient neighborhood. I'm not fond of Montmartre with its tourist traps and pick pockets, but this was in a very residential section and very close to a couple of good subway lines. Those not familiar with Paris, please note that it was the Notre Dame de Lorette Metro station, which is nowhere near Notre Dame Cathedral (and its hunchback...).

Thank you for your comment. Of course, I will tell you that you better book directly to the hotel to get the Best Deal but....
For the neighboors, the 9th district is in the center of Paris so you have the advantage of metro line 12 which pass through the center of Paris.
Also, as you said, it is a residential quarter so you can enjoy the French Way of Life.

This hotel located near Notre-dame Metro station and although the room was average but clean, the lady at the front desk really helpful and knowledgable to provide information specially during my first visit to Paris. Nice hotel if you are not planning to spent the rest of your day stay in your room.

Stayed here for two nights. I arrived early on the first stay and was greeted cheerfully and taken directly to my room. Room is small but comfortable and the bathroom is good sized. Rooms have a small tv, fridge, and important when it is hot - Air conditioning that works well. On a hot Paris day you will appreciate this at night. I did not take breakfast at the Hotel. All of the staff were helpful and friendly with more than adequate English skills.

The hotel is a VERY short walk to Notre Dame d Lorrette Metro and about 5-6 minutes from Le Peletier. Easy walk (uphill though) to the base of the Montmartre area near the Moulin Rouge. It is an easy ride to theSeine, Latin Quarter, etc.

The street one block over has a great market on Sundays until 1pm (I believe it is also on Wednesday. This market has great stores of all kinds, bread, cheese, wine, meat, fruits, etc. There are several nice cafes to enjoy the morning from.

Arrived via Orly and took a Taxi here, it was about 30 Euro

Would definitely stay again

Thank you for your comment. The street next to us, is Rue des Martyrs, very famous for its market on sunday morning and also its small typical parisian shops (fruits, cheese....).
We hope to see you again,
