The hotel is next to station Gare l'est and about ten minutes walk from Gare du Nord. The hotel has a very tiny elevator just good enough to fit two person standing. The room we stayed in had a large bathroom. The room had no coffee and thee facilities in the room. It was a fine hotel to stay for a short period!

It is basic, but has clean bedding and bathroom and wonderful staff. The receptionists are really helpful and will help direct you to any location providing a map. The breakfast is simple but fresh and filling. Some of the bedrooms are a little outdated but had all the necessities in them. If you love your clothes do take hangers as they only provide a couple! We felt secure and were able to travel from the Metro just outside the Hotel.

This is a budget hotel, you get what you pay for. Our room was fine (#50?), it was small but worked well for us and we laughed about the floors being slanted. It seemed to be as clean as possible for a older and well traveled place. Our room was facing the court yard and it was still fairly noisy at night with cars and emergency vehicles, also the church bells begin at 8am, so if you're looking to sleep in or nap throughout the day, that's not going to happen if you're facing the church.
Location is perfect though, literally steps from Gard de l'est and a very short walk to Gard du Nord.

Stayed here for 4 nights in May. Had a 4 person family room on the fifth floor. Room was surprisingly spacious for Paris and the bathroom was huge! Room was cleaned daily and beds made up as well. Boys had some good laughs in the tiny 3 person max elevator. Reception was friendly and very helpful. You do however have to leave your room key at reception everytime you leave the hotel which was a new one for us. The wifi cost 2 euro for an hour which is limited to one device. We had the hotel breakfast every morning except one but we didnt find a cheaper breakfast anywhere. It costs 8.70 euro per person and was very good with fresh baguettes and croissants, eggs, cereal, yougurt, meat, tea, coffee and hot chocolate for the kids. We walked from Gare du Nord which took about ten minutes. The hotel is right by Gare du l'est. The entrance is between two awnings so I would advise you to look at it on Google earth before you go. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby and even a supermarket and McDonalds. The restaurant below called le Renouveau has some good options for supper and has english menus. The l'open tour bus stop is right around the corner by the Indiana cafe.

Now Im not one to complain re hotels esp as i knew this was a budget hotel and Paris is very expensive....
However after taking forever to find the hotel we walked in to be greeted by a surley evening clerk who told us off for disrupting the mat on the entrance with our cases! we apologised but he didnt so much as crack a smile...its rug!? then we went to our room No 57 and it was TINY! now luckily myself and my partner are not very big so it was manageable but i think if anyone overweight or slightly bigger stayed there they would have found it very uncomfortable...there was no room to change or put your cases/bags, a little corner wardrobe with 3 hangers so the majority of our clothes had to stay in our case tucked int the side of the room where possible. The bathroom was the smallest and the door was an old fashioned slidy type door which didnt lock and looked like it was ready to fall off! the close proximity from the bed to the bathroom ment you could hear everything.....overall very disappointing and the decor was so old fashioned but i guess to lay your head a couple nights was ok....will defo think twice when bbooking for paris though...

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room as we did and had no noise problems

I just finished three days at this hotel right next to gare de l'est tran station. The hotel is two star - you get what you pay for. The room and hotel was small with old fittings and furnishings. The room smelt of damp, but it was clean and made up everyday. The hotel staff were very friendly even as I made my best effort to destroy the French language.
It is a cheap hotel close to the train station.

Room Tip: I had an inside room facing an odd court yard - I would imagine the outside rooms are very noisy.
