Hotel Carladez Cambronne
Ranked #941 of 1,804 Hotels in Paris
Reviewed 1 October 2013

Our room was not one of the pictured choices on the hotel's website. The room had the aroma of old shoes or a musty attic. We believe that the old carpet was to blame for the smell. The staff was friendly and helpful, giving us a fan. But at night the smell returned, and in the very small room even by Paris standards, it was quite unpleasant. Our room was on the first floor, a "comfort" room. This room was not comfortable for 2 adults and 2 small carry-ons. There was little room to walk in the room. The small cabinet had 5 hangers and there were no drawers. We did not like leaving the key at the front desk whenever we left because anyone could walk in and say your room number. The different clerks never asked us for our name. The bathroom was renovated and modern, but truly was so tiny. My husband joked that he'd never be able to reach any soap that dropped in the shower. Staying in Paris should be special, but staying here was not.

Room Tip: Do not choose a "comfort" level room on the first floor.

Dear Customer,
I have just read your comment and I am very sorry that our hotel has disappointed you
We have larger rooms with large bathrooms on the other side of the building
The rooms facing the courtyard are quiet, but it is true, smaller.
Our rooms are normally aired all morning during the cleaning. This will be repeated for women cleaning
We take care to maintain our carpets and they are regularly changed
I am very sorry for your disappointment and hope to have the pleasure of having a second chance to give you satisfaction
Best regards

Th hotel is of a good standard with just a short walk to the Metro and a stroll to the Eiffel tower. It's a lively neighbourhood with plenty of restaurants and bas nearby. We enjoyed our stay, it was 3star standard and a good price for a good stay

After reading all the positive comments we decided to book this hotel. First impression wasn't good we came at 3pm and had to wait half an hour for the room to get ready due to a new maid starting.
There is no aircon in the hotel and the room being very small was a real problem as it was very stuffy.
Hotel staff were friendly enough and we borrowed a small fan. The worst bit was that it is VERY noisy if you get a room facing the street, we couldn't have the windows open at all as it is extremely noisy with traffic and the downstairs cafe. It is like facing a busy street and noise from the brasserie goes on into the night until 1-2 am. The volume on the tv was locked so we couldn't hear the tv at all when the windows were open.
There was work being undertaken in the hotel, we got woken up at 8 ish in the morning by drilling
When we had been up late from sightseeing and up until 1-2 am from the ruckus from the bar downstairs...
The workmen were always in the way when we were getting in and out and gave us looks that we were in their way when trying to walk past. This wasn't in the brochure.
The hotel isn't really in the best location other than the Eiffel tower and that is still a fair walk.
The breakfast was pathetic, go downstairs to a bunker looking room where the croissants were industrial made and no fresh white bread even. Very disappointing for a three stars hotel.
On our last day we went down for brekkie at 7:30, brekkie stuff wasn't set-up because the maid was late and the hotel receptionist and the maid were arguing in front of us while moving boxes past us to get food ready while we sat they continued arguing moving boxes and interrupting us while we were trying to enjoy our crappy breakfast. Very unprofessional, same as one of the receptionist having his buddy in the lobby socialising every time we came in.
I would not recommend this hotel nor would I give it three stars, the bathroom is new sure, but the bed was a disgrace, the mattress was really worn out and had a big hull in the middle. Had bad backs from it in the morning. No tea or coffee in the room either not even a box of tissue or a pad and pen, basics for a three star hotel I would have thought...
Very disappointed...

Room Tip: If have to stay there ask for a room not facing the street

We stayed three days here while in Paris. The reception staff were all very friendly and spoke excellent English. The room was tiny, but for the price you don't expect anything too fancy. We got a quiet room up the back and it was great. The area the hotel is in is very quiet, it's a good 20 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower but it was perfect for us as we just wanted a quiet place to sleep at night. there are two metro stops about 5 minutes away from the hotel. Breakfast was simple but nice, lots of cereals and yougerts, plus baguettes, croissants, meats, cheeses, and tea, coffee, juice. There was no air con (and it was 30*C the three days we were there!) but we had the window open and a fan on and we were fine. There were renovations going on while we were there but we didn't hear any noises or smell anything so that was good. there is an elevator too which was great as we were on the fourth floor! The wifi was great as well. Overall was great value for the price.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room up the back, away from the street

This is a very good hotel. With a reasonable price and good location, this is a great choice. Helpful staff, a simple yet tasty breakfast, and a beautiful and clean room. It´s near two metro stations (Vaugirard and Cambronne) and have many stores in the neighborhood. Reccomended.

We were looking for a room near the centre.
Price is really fair, staff is very friendly.
Rooms are rather small, but clean and if you are in paris you don't want to stay in your room :)
Bath room is renovated and clean.

Room Tip: bakery across to hotel is really great

We are pleased to read that our hotel gave you satisfaction
The rooms facing the square are larger and have spacious bathrooms.
You certainly were in a room facing the courtyard, which are smaller and quieter
We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again in our hotel.
Book a double room with bath in this case for a larger room

The best thing about the Carladez is its location. It is in a lovely Paris neighborhood on a little square. You are the only tourist(s) around. Across the street is a sidewalk cafe for your morning coffee. Two doors down from there is a patisserie/boulangerie for your morning croissant and lunchtime quiche. Fruit and vegetable shops, butchers, more cafes and brasseries....it is just heaven. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The Vaugirard Metro is a five minute walk. Stay here - so refreshing after a day amongst swarming tourists.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are noisier, but have a view of the shops and square. Rooms on the back have a v...
