Loved how close the Eugenie was to everything! We were even able to check in early without any problems. Great cafes, pubs and boulangeries all within steps of Eugenie. Staff was helpful and kind. Room was cool, comfortable and clean. Great bathroom with good water pressure :)
We had a room facing the street and it was not loud at all, but we were up on the 4th floor. There was a working lift, but beware of the winding staircase going down. The steps are a bit uneven, it makes you feel like you have had a few too many glasses of wine. We did not have breakfast here but it was offered for a small charge. It is about 2 blocks from the nearest metro station and RER station.

A fairly basic hotel with small rooms, but as a handy place to crash between mad sightseeing sessions it's perfect. Close to the Metro, walking distance to Notre Dame (I think the Tripadvisor map is wrong), plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. It's on a busy street (which is what I wanted to be safe walking around at night) but with sound proof windows and aircon there was no problem sleeping. It was also very clean (and now I sound like my mother in law!).

We arrived at the hotel and found it was in an okay location, about 10 minutes from the nearest metro station. The hotel itself is a bit run down but we expected that. We had been travelling since 6.30am, so when we arrived at the hotel at 3pm we wanted to have a shower before going into the centre of Paris. We had no towels. There were no towels in the hotel. We didn't get any until 11pm. The staff were helpful but I wasn't very impressed. The rest of the stay was okay, be aware of the tax you have to pay on check out. I personally wouldn't stay here again.

Each year we make a layover in Paris and we try different hotels every time. One thing I am certain of is that we will always stay in this area from now on. We only spent one night at Hotel Eugenie and we were very pleased with our stay. We arrived a bit early and were able to store our luggage in the holding area and our room was ready before we even came back from a quick look around. Friendly, welcoming staff, clean and surprisingly quiet rooms, lovely breakfast and again the perfect location....steps to the Metro and you can go directly to CDG airport by RER B. After spending our first night at a Trocadero hotel, we found the value here to be excellent! We ate three full course meals in the Latin Quarter for less than one single plate dinner in the Trocadero area (much more delicious, too!) We will definitely stay here again and I am so happy we found this gem!

Staff was very friendly and we had a very nice stay. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very good. Although the bathroom was tiny and a little bit cramped, we managed just fine. The location of the hotel is perfect.

As a regular visitor to Paris and the Hotel Eugenie, I feel that my fondness for this little gem of a hotel is seriously waning

It's a shame really because in my opinion, it has a lot going for it. Sadly though, the owners have increased prices to such an extent that I cannot see myself ever staying again at the price I recently had to pay. Some may say, I knew how much it cost when I booked it.. correct indeed, but I was expecting things to have improved considerably, and they had not

I will start with the good first.,

There is no doubt in my mind, but location wise, this is the best area to stay in Paris. The hotel is a very short walk from the St Michel RER/Metro station (RERB from Charles De Gaulle airport stops here). Its a short walk to Notre Dame and on a warm summer evening, its really lovely to sit out among the many sidewalk cafe's and just people watch while soaking up the atmosphere

Staff are very friendly and helpfull, with a superb local knowledge

My stay this time from 18th-22nd June was in room 307. The excellent Air Conditioning ensured my room was an oasis among the sweltering heat in the afternoon / evening. The free WiFi had a strong signal and was a pleasure to use while working

I had asked for a quiet room when booking and room 307 which I was allocated, faced an inward courtyard and was perfect

The supplied small fridge ensured my purchased water was always cold

Now, the not so good ....
I was charged €120 per night for a single room. If I wished to have breakfast ( Continental style) that was an extra €10.50. Needless to say, I had breakfast elsewhere

The room was very very cramped and only had one spare plug socket for me to charge a laptop, charge my cellphone, re-charge some camera batteries.. certainly not ideal

The wall at the desk has a constant 7 or 8 taps (noise) coming from it repetitively, I guess it may have been the water in the pipes going into the bathroom which was the other side of the desk wall. This was constant and all the time, both day & night

The shower itself was really small and cramped. So small in fact, that as I moved around in it, my body caught the hot/cold tap and accidentally switched the water from a pleasent temperature to boiling hot .. luckily I was not scalded

I do feel that the bad points listed would have been acceptable if I had paid €80 per night, but at €120 a night, I do feel the hotel has crossed a line, certainly in my eyes

To sum up
Most likely the best location in Paris, but has not been way overpriced for what you get

Room Tip: Corcorans Irish pub almost across the street have a special "happy Hour" from 5PM-8PM. Al...

Old building with modern conveniences. The street bustles with tourists and location is close to many attractions. Front desk staff personable but did not appreciate being given the
wrong directions to find the supermarket.
