“Family 6 night stay”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

We stayed 6 nights mainly for the convenient location and proximity to the Metro stop. The included breakfast we supplemented with some yoghurt and museli ourselves as a croissant is not substantial enough for us. We had a private room on the 5th floor so the lift was essential with our luggage. The room with ensuite was small but did have a balcony and we really only were there to sleep. The washer (4 Euro) and dryer (3 Euro) were expensive so we only used once as required 2 x dryer to get clothes dry so 10 Euro for 1 load of washing. Staff were helpful, Beer cheap. Kitchen really lacked basic equipment like no potato peeler and lack of equipment and bowls for preparing meals. It was full and crowded for breakfast but not many guests used the kitchen in the evenings.

Room Tip: Ask for 5th or 6th floor as further up from street noise.

This hostel is poor to very poor in quality vs price. The rooms are small & cramped, looks something like a pre-70s soviets block county. Small sink and one light bulb, one 220v outlet, two rough sleeping jail house bunk beds. The carpet in the hallway was stained, dirty, worn out and stink of funk. The showers were moldy, dirty and very small. Large people will NOT fit in the shower (shower size is a large refrigerator) and the best part is 20+ people will have to share it.
The receptionists were all very friendly and helpful on everything about Paris. Breakfast are OK for being free. WIFI only works in the downstairs common, you'll be lucky to post anything on Facebook during peak hours.
BOTTOMLINE: Tolerable for one night stay passing through Paris, an 2/3 night stay, you're feel ripped off for the value in Euros you paid for this dump.

Room Tip: do not get a room facing the street, traffic noise in terrible, homeless drunks walking the sidewalk...

This hostel was nothing special and kind of dirty. The space was quite cramped in the room as well. Also, if the lady catches you taking more than one bun or croissant you get yelled at ha ha...so it's not really much of a breakfast. It would be unlikely that I would stay here again.

Room Tip: I would probably just chose another hostel.

I was in a 4 bed female dorm. The place was Ok but room was really small.the washroom was also small with no handwash and inadequate tissue paper.
This place is 30 sec from Anvers metro station bt far from eiffel and louvre.

If you plan travel everywhere on foot then Montmarte ia not the ideal location as u will have to use metro (1,70 per journey)

Breakfast was also OK ; lesser options as comapred to other hostels

It's very strange to share one toilet and one shower (dirty and full of fungi) with two etages so with for about 20+ people. The rooms are very small, but that was totally okay with me. The service was good and the receptionists were all very friendly and showed me everything. You are able to use the kitchen with a fridge, there are all kitchen utensiles you need, so you can cook by yourself if you want (supermarket is a few minutes away on the same side of the street). The metro is also very near. Literally not even !1! minute and you're at Anvers!

Room Tip: The matress are very different. If you have problems with your back or anything, then in my opinion...

Excellent location, 50 meters from Anvers station. Beautiful place in breathtaking Monmartre, 5 min waking distance from Sacre Coeur. Felt more like a hotel. Great breakfast, polite and helpful staff, big and clean rooms with great bathroom facilities. Highly recommended, wish we had stayed more. If we have the chance to ever go back, we will stay here again. Thank you for a great experience.

...between rooms was my anthem at Le Regent. I had advised the hostel of my late arrival beforehand. Upon arriving well after midnight, I was told that my reservation could not be found even though I had booked directly through them. There was only one receptionist on duty and it got surprisingly busy. After serving other guests, it was about an hour later before my situation was somewhat sorted: the clerk was only able to give me a room for that night and said he would not charge me for that night as an apology for the mix-up. I was told they had no room for me for the next 3 nights but they would try to find me accommodation somewhere else. As it turned out next day, they were able to accommodate me so I didn't have to stay at a separate hotel from my group. However, I had to stay in a different room each night, so that meant checking out each morning, moving my stuff to luggage storage, and checking back in later each day.

I stayed in female dorm rooms and every ensuite bathroom had mold. One had a sink that was plugged up with water that made it unusable. The hallway toilet had no sink equipped inside so nowhere to wash your hands.

Our first time at breakfast we were yelled at in French by a staff lady for going behind the counter. It was an honest mistake and there were no signage indicating you couldn't step there. The breakfast itself was decent though.

Oh, and that promised free night to make up for the inconvenience of losing my reservation? Never happened. The day time clerk charged me as originally quoted and was indifferent to my situation. Due to all the stress incurred and time wasted checking out and back in each day, I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the inner courtyard are quieter. Get breakfast early or all the croissants will be gone...
