Stayed there over a period of time. Walls are a bit thin. The staff are helpful. Close to metro and rooms are above average for a 3-star hotel. Free wifi but clumsy; had to constantly reconnect. Room had flat panel televisions and were reasonably spacious.

Small, but clean room. VERY small wardrobe and thin walls. Aircondition did not work, but you could barrow a fan in the reception. All the staff was very helpful and spoke a lot of languages. Breakfast was too expensive and there ought to be free internet connection for the price. Close to Metro.

Where to start:
Website pictures do not really correspond to the rooms but that is common practice I suppose. Just don't expect what you see in photos or you'll be disappointed.
Extremely noisy cleaning staff. Continuous banging from 8am is NOT ok. If I spend so much money into a supposedly 3star hotel, I expect to be able to sleep without getting woken up early every morning (including on a Sunday). More care/thoughtfulness, padding on chairs or carpets would solve this easily.
Reception staff relatively unfriendly but polite.
The place is NOT safe if you have valuables. Don't leave your key at the reception as there is hardly ever anyone behind the desk and it is just a matter of grabbing any key as you walk in. Same for the luggage room (no labelling, no key so anyone can walk in and walk out with a few cases).
If you're a thief, this is a great place to stay. Maybe there should be a Thieftripadvisor and Hotel Moris would get a great review.
If you still decide to book a room, make sure you do so via their website as walk-in rates are an even bigger rip-off.
Oh yeah, and no free wi-fi. Come on, French broadband is cheap and fast. It just shows how little they care for their clients.
I rarely write reviews, especially to give out, but this had to be done.
I am French residing in Ireland, and the standard in Irish hotels is definitely higher than this one. If you can book in advance, I would recommend something like the Hotel Taylor (rue Taylor) around the corner, but early booking is necessary.

This is a small (hidden) hotel that seems to be recently renovated. It was clean, service was excellent, rooms with flat panel TVs, location not bad.

Most hotels have carpeted rooms. There's a good reason for that - carpets absorb noise. This hotel has laminate bamboo floors, so expect to hear your neighbours upstairs and in the adjoining rooms.

The fitout is a mix of styles from 70's to the present, and the overall feel is that of a clean, boring business hotel.

The bed was firm, but a bit uncomfortable. I was woken by noise around 7:00 am Sunday and couldn't get back to sleep, and I am a heavy sleeper.

Poor value for EUR142 per night.

The front desk staff were friendly.

Booked two nights here with an online booking site.Good position near good Metro lines.
Booked a room that was non-smoking.As stated on the booking form.
When we arrived my first impression of the room was good spotlessly clean ,nice bathroom and of good size for a Paris hotel-although a little darkas it faced onto courtyard.
A bit later on spotted a nice large ashtray on the desk-Umm!!
Later that afternoon smelt alot of tobacco smoke in the corridor. It was coming from the room next door. My daughter who is a fluent French speaker rang reception and informed the Receptionist that I was asthmatic and this was not a non-smoking room /corridor.
We were informed that they did not exist here!!
We ask if he could move us -he was not helpful and couldn't /wouldn't help.
sadly the couple we were next to wanted to smoke for France and we were stuck-Thankfully didnt come to Paris to sit in the room -but the late evenings were horrid!
On the morning of departure (check was 12 midday) same 'helpful receptionist' rang the room at 11:30 telling us that we needed to check out as they needed the room-we were just about to leave when the call came but guess what? we stayed until 11:59hrs!
Seems to me the staff here need to re-visit Customer Care School.-And that booking web-site needs to check hotel facilities.

Awful Street noise
Rue Rene Boulanger is a cobblestoned road, and the noise made by rattling trolleys, neighbours opposite the hotel having a party, or even the sound of talking/drunk singing from the restaurans in the street below can be clearly heard - even magnified by echoes along the street - in the room. Our nights in Paris were sleepless nights. As the hotel has NO AIRCONDITIONING, the windows cannot be shut in summer unless one wishes to suffocate in the heat.

Insects in the rooms facing the backyard
I travelled as a family of 4, and we took two rooms - one that faced the main street and another that faced the backyard. The latter room was plagued by many little green insects that were literally EVERYWHERE - perched on the soap, in bathtub, on the lamps, on the walls, pillows, duvets, bedheads, closets - there was absolutely no way to get rid of them, and as there was no air conditioning, we couldn't close the windows!

Bad Front Desk
The front desk was manned by a sour lady who couldn't wait to see the back of us and was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, particularly with storing luggage - we wanted to store excess luggage as we were returning to Paris to stay in this hotel a week afterward, and she gave us excuses like "we don't store luggage", which rapidly changed to "oh, it's not safe to store luggage here", which then morphed further into "but you have to pay to store luggage here". She never greets you when you walk in either - and my father greeted her every single day with an exuberant "Good morning!" I found her to be extremely disrespectful.

Missing Towels
The towels are not always replaced - i.e. instead of giving you two towels, they give you one. And the night desk does not have the key to the towel storage, so woe betide you if you come back late to find a towel missing!

if you can live with all that (and I salute you if you can), the hotel is clean and is in an excellent location - near the Republique metro station and a 20 minute walk down to the Seine via the Rue Saint Martin, with many excellent boulangeries and restaurants along the way. If you're up to it you can walk all the way to the Notre Dame.

Tip: bring some plastic mats and have a picnic by the Seine! In the summer, there are deck chairs and grassy patches to picnic on. Buy some food and juice from the boulangerie (I recommend Boulangerie Julien, quite a way down the Rue St Martin) and sit by the Seine!
