“Small clean and modern hotel in a good location.”
Reviewed 1 October 2013

Stayed at this hotel for a long weekend at the end of September. It is located in a lively district with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops. The metro line is just a few minutes walk from the hotel which makes it easy to get around Paris to see all the sights. The bedroom although a double superior was small as was the ensuite bathroom. It was spotlessly clean however and the bed was very comfortable. There was free wifi in the bedroom, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. The room became very hot at night as there was no air con and with the windows open it was pretty noisy at times due to traffic in the street. The staff were not particularly friendly (but I cannot speak French and their English was limited) apart from one of the male receptionists who was charming and helpful. The lady who set the breakfast buffet and tables was quite rude one morning and would not bring us cups as she said we had come down too late at 945am. (We were told breakfast was from 7-10am). I complained to the receptionist but she was not supportive saying the lady had to clean the bedrooms at 10am after doing the breakfasts. We went to breakfast at 9am the next morning and we were served in a friendlier manner. Overall the hotel and breakfast was good value for money, especially considering Paris prices, but a friendlier reception from the staff would have made our stay more enjoyable.

Room Tip: If you are bothered by noise from street traffic ask for a room on a higher floor or ?at the back.

Little hotel with good location, 1 block away from the CADET metro station, lot of restaurants near and pastrys. Wifi included, not the best speed for business but perfect for cheking emails. I booked the Superior room, bathroom a little small for my taste but ok. Overall is a nice place to stay for the price and with WIFI included. Service was ok until the last day when I tried to book a "shuttle" to the ORY airport, they had a mix up and because of the language barrier, didn´t felt that I was correctly billed for, but besides that ok!

Room Tip: Superior rooms or best, the other ones I felt were too small, have in mind my wife and I had 3 bags.

We stayed here for 3 nights and would definitely book it again if ever returning to Paris....the location was so central, hotel was spotless, rooms were small but we knew to expect that and they were really clean and modern and had all that we needed in them...staff were super friendly so helpful with directions etc and we're always happy to help!!we included breakfast which was very good value but slightly Understocked...we never had to wait for a table wither which was super...we spent most of the time walking everywhere from hotel or else using the bus on the street parallel to hotel!!would defo reccomend this hotel for any couple on a romantic getaway to Paris!!!

This little cozy hotel completely renewed, offers refurbish clean rooms in the very heart of Paris. Apart from the very close underground station (cadet) it is walking distance from Opera, Montmartre and Pigalle, Champs Elysèes, Place de la Concorde...The surrounding area is very rich in Bistrots, restaurants and bars (though they close quite early). I had a problem with an extra bed but if you are in a double, i highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed in this hotel quite a few times over the years as it has always been very reasonable and is conveniently located 15 mins walk away from Gare du Nord. It used to be called Riboutte-Lafayette but for some reason, the proprietors decided to give it a cheap facelift and rename it "Golden". I also remember it being 2 stars but now they apparently have been upgraded to three. It is still reasonably cheap but feels cheap, too. Somehow before it felt very simple and unpretentious so matched one's expectations, whereas nowadays there are "superior" rooms, although we did not find anything particularly superior about ours.. The room was small and noisy. The bathroom walls need re-grouting. The liquid soap dispenser was almost empty and had not been topped up during our stay. The towels were worn. There were scales in the bathroom but they did not work (out of battery?). The furniture feels cheap and badly made. Room door handles are mismatched. The throw on the bed did not smell fresh.Since there is no air conditioning, we had to keep the window open and the smell of someone smoking outside was wafting in every now and then which I found very annoying. These are all small things and I do not wish to be petty but they add up to make an unfavourable impression, as if the owners tried to make an effort and gave up half-way. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the breakfast was awful, with very stale pastries, so we went elsewhere on the following days.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are obviously quieter.

We stayed 3 nights at the end of our 5 week European holiday. We booked a superior dble room using booking.com, the room was exactly like the photos on the site except it was a little smaller than it appeared in the photos, this really wasn't a problem though, as who spends much time in their rooms in Paris ! The bed was comfortable but a little small in European standards. We have stayed in this area of Paris before and its a great spot. There are many great cafes and restaurants and a couple of supermarkets and a nice park all in walking distance. Our room was decorated beautifully in French style of course and was very clean and serviced daily. It even had tea and coffee making facilities which was a first in any hotel we have ever stayed in Europe. It also had a Fridge. The bathroom was small but had everything we needed including a bath. The rooms are not air conditioned but they had a pedestal fan in the room for us, and we used every night as it was quiet hot. The hotel is very close to Cadet Metro, tip if you use the metro buy your tickets in a books of ten for 13€ this gets you on all the rer trains and buses, you can buy them from the vending machines in the metros, easy to use as you can view instructions in English. Breakfast wasn't included in rate, but it was available at 10€ per person, per day which I think was a little expensive. The Staff were extremely helpful and they speak very good english. Highly recommend the shuttle service to the airport, much easier than using bus or train and it was cheaper than a taxi 36€ for 2, pick up at hotel and you are delivered to your terminal door. The train and bus are cheaper but you have to drag your cases with you and there are a lot of stairs in the metro, not fun with full suite cases! Overall great value, great location which will ate your stay in Paris a pleasant one.
