“No fuss, no muss. Clean and useful.”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Context: I'm a speaker and travel to different countries to deliver talks then visit colleagues. I stayed here after speaking in Paris at a web conference because I wanted to be near a colleague in the 13th. We went out sightseeing every day.

The good: Clean, firm mattress. Good hot water and pressure. Useful room layout with nice closets, a stool at the window, and a place to put my (locking) suitcase. The service at the desk is reserved and they get out of your way so you can do your own thing, which I appreciate (although some might not).

The indifferent (but you might care): One outlet for charging means daisychaining to charge several devices. You only get shower gel and soap, no frills. I pack all my own toiletries, so I was relieved to not have those things junking up my bathroom.

The bad: No fan means no whitenoise and no way to cool the room. Heat wasn't an issue in May, but it will be later in the year. The wifi only lets you attach one device at a time. Rather cumbersome to edit flight reservations on my laptop then update them on my phone.

Conclusion: Good location and nice atmosphere mean I'll come back if I'm in Paris during the cooler months. They could improve these rooms by adding window fans to help with noise and cooling, though.

This hotel is in a terrific location for transport and restaurants and offers a fantastic breakfast
If they could pop a fridge and a jug for tea and coffee making it would makes this so much better
The beds are comfy and the staff are friendly and helpful

I stayed here in November 2013 for 4 nights. It's near the Montparnasse area of Paris and tucked into a very safe residential area with lots of restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores around for options. The room itself was small but clean and had everything that I needed. The hotel was very quiet and I didn't have any issues with noise. There were a few metro stations nearby so there was never any issue with getting around. The breakfast was terrific, great quality and lots of selection. I would stay here again.

I have visited this hotel many times during the past years and I have never been disappointed. For Paris this is a very good price for a clean hotel with a good bed and a good breakfast. Since the last redecoration the mattress and duvet have much improved. The bathroom and shower are also better than in other hotels within the same price range. Neighborhood is calm and residential.

An option for relaxed travellers. This quiet arrondisment is a possibility if you want to be near Luxemburg Gardens but not in the middle of the mess.
The hotel is nice, with a good breakfast (not usual in Paris). The room is small but a comfortable bed awaits you at night! Also the WiFi works fine.
The staff is friendly and the let you leave your lugagge if you have to do the check out but you are not leaving yet.

I love this hotel! OK, its not luxury, but by Paris prices, this one is certainly good value.
It's located in the 13th Arrondisment - not an obvious place for travellers, but that's what I like about it. The hidden gems, the undiscovered little highlights etc.
Rooms are a good size compared with typical Parisian hotel rooms. Very friendly, welcoming staff. I've never had any problems here. You get a good breakfast. Continental style - croissants, pastries, yoghurts, cheeses, breads etc etc eat as much as you like. I usually take some out for my picnic lunch later in the day!
Located near a metro stop, so excellent links into the city. Also, very close to Place D'Italie for reasonable priced restaurants, bars etc. Reasonably priced because they are away from the tourist hotspots. Here, you see typically local Paris scenes, which to me is a joy. Some local guys asked me to join in their game of boules the last time I went for a walk round about. They were happy to take the time to explain to me the rules, the techniques etc. Who says Parisians are rude?? Not me!
There is a huge shopping centre in Place D'Italie too as well as Chinatown, a joy to walk around and to discover Asian restaurants there.
The only downside of this hotel is the rooms aren't air-conditioned so they can get stuffy in the hot summer months and the windows only open a little way. However, its a small drawback. In terms of price, location and the chance to discover some hidden gems of unseen Paris, this hotel cuts it for me everytime.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the little courtyard are cooler in the hot summer months.
