“Loved the Neighborhood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2013

My husband and I have stayed in Paris many times and have always been lucky with our hotel choices. We like to stay in different parts of the city as they all have something different to offer. The Hotel Niel is in a residential neighborhood surrounded by restaurants, shops and market stalls selling fresh produce. Ternes metro is about five minutes away and the Champs Elysees is about ten minutes walk. I liked this neighborhood because it didn't seem as touristy as some of the other areas we have stayed in.

The rooms are small but well designed. Some people said their rooms were noisy, I was actually surprised how quiet our room was. We were on the second floor facing the rue Saussier Leroy. The Hotel Niel is very good value by Paris standards and I would definitely stay there again.

I stumbled upon this hotel while trying to find sone deals and I did find one on this hotel.. apart from price there are lot of other good things about the hotel. This is at a very convenient location so the Arc De Triumph is 700 metres from the hotel, you can easily walk. Also the metro station is nearby, you can either go to etoile which is next to arc de triumph or at the ternes metro which is 250 metres and also there is a kiosk there in green where you can buy the museum pass. The location has excellent food choices and you will not miss a single cuisine. Plenty of shops, convenience stores to buy water etc. The hotel itself was pretty good, it was a bit small but that is everywhere in Paris. It was clean and well maintained. In Paris they usually ask you to keep keys at reception when you go, this is pretty normal so dont worry :) the place is very quiet as it is in side street away from the hustle bustle of avenues but still close by. There is a small vending machine you can use. I dont know why they gave just one tea bag that was strange. The shower was great and very clean. Overall very nice experience. It didnt WOW me but no disappointments either. The staff were very friendly and nice.

Stayed here for 4 days, from Oct. 10-14. Location is great. It is walking distance to the Arch of Triumph, metro station and to our HOHO bus. It is also in close proximity to restaurants, grocery store and a local market. Breakfast is free which is a plus. There's also a free wifi in our room. Our room, bathroom is tiny. The elevator is also tiny and can only accommodate 4 people. Everything in Europe is so "tiny." Our room doesn't have a microwave, a coffee maker or a fridge. There's no telephone in our room and when I asked the receptionist if there's a phone I could use to confirm our ride from the hotel to the airport the answer was negative. I ended up using my phone with roaming charges. Talking about customer service.

Location of the hotel is great, 10 minutes walking from the champs elysees and 3 minutes from the metro station.Nice neighborhood and there is a market in the area where you can buy amazing local options of food, cheese, wine and pastries.
The room was small and not sound proof at all! (It was room 002 in the ground floor) and the heater was not working, so it was cold too. On the other hand, it was clean, beds were very comfortable and bathrooms was excellent.
breakfast was below average and costly (9 Euros). you can get great breakfast deals from the bakeries in the neighborhood especially PAUL.

Room Tip: Avoid the room in the ground floor (002) , its small and noisy.

We recently stayed here for 4 nights on our recent visit to Paris and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The room was clean and cozy and ideally located within walking distance of the Metro and the Arc de Triomphe. It is located on a quiet side street in a neighbourhood with lots of little shops and places to pick up groceries for a little bite to eat in the room after a day of roaming around the city and well as inviting cafes should you decide on eating out. Breakfast was included and met our needs perfectly. The service was friendly and excellent and made us worth considering staying there on our next visit to Paris.

Small, intimate, exceedingly clean hotel. Rooms are small but tasteful and attractive. We had a very comfortable stay in this neighborhood location of shops, markets and apartments. Very lovely place, all around.

Room Tip: Ours faced the ambiance of the street but was noise free.

very close to l'Arc de triomphe and champs elysees (walking distance) and transportation is easy to get to the touristic buses (bus rouges) or the metro stations. If you're going for more than 4 days to Paris, it might be good to stay half of your vacation at this place and half of it next to Place de La Concorde.
