We had originally booked the Hotel pavillon opera however due to rennovation works, we were rebooked for one night a the hotel hor. Pros: 1) New, modern, and clean. 2) The staff were ever so helpful and breakfast was spot on. 3) very close to the gare du nord so good for travel. Cons: Only one really - the hotel was sandwiched between a couple of sex shops and there was another across the road however bar this, it was a fantastic and extremely comfortable hotel.

If you need a hotel near the Paris Nord hotel for a short stay, this is the perfect place.

Hotel rooms are very nicely done with good quality finishings. Rooms are compact but perfect for a short stay. The hotel is across the street from the train station and there are restaurants everywhere. Can get an English breakfast nearby for 7.50 euros. Did not try the hotel breakfast as was more expensive.

Metro station only a block away. Both the day and evening front desk staff were pleasant, engaging, and willing to assist.

As noted by other reviewers, the area around the train station is not the best. Felt very safe during the day, but noticed groups of men hanging around in the evening. We were back in the hotel by 8:00, but would have felt uncomfortable if it was late at night. This does not take away from the hotel, as they make you feel secure in spite of the neighbourhood.

Minor drawback was the internet. It is free wireless throughout, but the connection occassionaly failed.

Perfect hotel for the money and short stay.

It's a pleasure to find such a nice hotel in Paris which is affordable and has great customer service. The location is perfect if you are arriving by Eurostar and has good transport links for travelling around Paris.
The rooms are very well equipped with a small fridge, tea & coffee making facilities, a safe and complimentary WiFi. The rain shower in the bathroom is excellent and the toiletries which are provided are very nice.
It's a very busy area and there are lots of late night bars & restaurants however we felt very secure in the hotel at all times and there was no noise disturbance at nights.
This will definitely be our hotel of choice whenever we visit Paris.

Excellent, clean, minimalist hotel, which is a 1-minute walk away from Gare du Nord railway station and the Metro line.
The surrounding area doesn't seem very nice or picturesque at first but I would describe it as "vibrant", "multicultural" and "with character". it is on a street which has restaurants catering for vegetarians - uncommon in Paris.
The staff were lovely and security was good (if you are still concerned about the area) - there was a 24-hour receptionist who only let you into the building at night if you waved a keycard.

Hotel Hor is located just a 5 mins walk from Gare De Nord. Which made it really convenient for us to travel. There were lots of food and dining areas available in the vicinity. It also had a Marche or a Market area near them which was quite a sight for us to experience. Their service was really good with lots of good explanations of the areas to visit and recommendation for food. Their night shift reception, Jan, was also really helpful. He is the most polite, hard-working and sweet receptionist I have ever met. He made our trip in France all that more enjoyable. It is also nice to go back to a kind person who would greet and be all so willing to help you with your enquiries. So, yes. We love this hotel. Would definately go back to them again should we go back to Paris. :)

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor as the road can be quite noisy at night.

Although the surrounding neighborhood is not that nice, but the hotel itself is very newly renovated and is very clean. The bathroom is nice and clean. Breakfast is good with ample choices of standard food in a small but chick dining room. The receptionist is very helpful and they also provide desktop computer, internet and printer. In summer must be nice sitting in their small garden area.

If you have or coming through Gare du Nord than this hotel is very convenient
