the place: a tiny outfit, can't be more than 30 seats. most guests sit at the bar but there are a few seats on the table too. the course: it's a set menu, varies from time to time. when i was there it started with a grilled eel sushi for opening, followed by the 'main course' of about a dozen skewers (and salad on the side), then easing down with cold soba and salad, and finishing with a number of small desserts. the food: truly a feast of flavor and texture, a melange of all things wonderful. the entire course is very thoughtful, unmistakably japanese (osaka?) but with a nod to french ingredients and seasonal sensibility. it's not cheap but oh so worth it. would come back next time i'm in paris.
