Hotel was chosen because of its proximity to Montmartre. The room was tiny and tired, bed against the wall, so my husband had to climb over me to get in or out. Not enough room for 2 people to get ready at the same time. No space to put toiletries etc. A small tray contained 2plastic cups, 1tea bag, 1 coffee sachet. This had to be put on floor due to lack of space
On returning to room in the evening after a hard day's sightseeing the room had not been touched- bed unmade, no tea, coffee etc. To get to the room, there was either a tiny one person lift or narrow, steep stairs.
I could go on but to summarise. ONE TO MISS

Room Tip: Don't go

We visited Feb 12-15 and were very pleased with our stay. We thought booking any hotel room in Paris over Valentine's Day would be outrageous, but this hotel is extremely affordable and a great value. About a 10 minute walk from the Anvers Metro station, the location was convenient and just a couple of doors down from Le Montmartre, a really nice little pub. The staff is very friendly and lucky for us, they speak English pretty well. They are helpful and easy to deal with. The rooms are tiny and very clean, with a nice big TV and modern decor. The only thing is the elevator... It is truly the smallest little joke of an elevator I've ever seen! The two of us had to literally squeeze into it facing each other, and they had to send our luggage up to us separately. Hilarious! And a small sacrifice considering how great the rest of it is.

Arrived via Eurostar short taxi ride 14 Euros from station although u could get the metro to Chateau Rouge 3 mins walk. Extremely helpful receptionist spoke excellent English booked us tickets for a show -no problem.
Lift is extremely compact and a shoulder to wall experience for an ex-rugby player can't get cases in with 2 people.
Room on 5th floor, 504 compact but well appointed -bring a few extra coat hangers as space is a premium. Once thru the cupboard door into a well appointed bathroom -great shower only a net curtain at window and scaffolding outside with workmen on it made for an interesting time.
Bed and clean sheets fantastically comfortable really have had some great night's sleep. Traffic noise not so bad considering you are in a busy ethnic district. Smallfridge in room enough for water, orange juice n milk for the morning plastic cup of coffee. Bring some wine glasses and coffee mugs if you want something better.
Surrounding area Carrefore City supermarket 50 metres up the road, boulangerie for fresh bread opposite and good bar opposite Carrefour sat outside this under heaters at night, speak good English as well.
Well recommend this hotel if on a budget and once u have mastered the Metro the sky's the limit, great base of corporations and a short metro hop via Gare du Nord to Stade du France

Room Tip: Top rooms also have access to the balcony via the window. Breakfast expensive when local boulangerie...

Have just returned from a romantic 2 day mid week mini break in the city of love. Hotel's location was grand. But over all the standard was much lower than advertised. Our room was right inside the main door off reception. You could hear absolutely everything! The only good point to this hotel was the company I was in. Thanks Alan(my Australian lover)...

Room Tip: Book somewhere else!

I arrived and was greeted by a young man at reception with enthusiasm, professionalism and a big smile...i instantly felt welcomed! My room was on the 3rd floor. The lift seems made to measure for one + 1 suitcase :) The room was just as 'cosy' but the cleanliness and comfort was noticable! The bed is a single and a half size which took up most of the room!
Bathroom was tight but functional and super clean! The breakfast is an extra cost of 10euro consisting of baguette, cheeses, jams, yogurt, croissants, etc. A typical continental Breakfast.
The location is great for those wanting to get a true feel of the Parisien lifestyle. It is 2 blocks away from Le Sacre' Coeur! The neighbourhood is frequented by a variety of nationalities and i always felt safe getting around on my own. The Metropolitan is simple and the easiet way to move around Paris. The nearest staion is only a few minutes walk. Montmarte itself is a beautiful, very 'chic' city to explore and very easy to fall in love with! Fantastique :)

Lift for one person - no baggage; not enough light in the room to see; hot fridge; no power in bathroom (these last two were explained as "normal" for hotels in Paris - yeah right!); not enough tea, sugar for two; stained towel; tiny room; useless, small European pillows. We were dudded with the lovely picture of probably the best room in the hotel on the booking.com website. Value for money? Rather spend a bit more. Very disappointed!

Room Tip: Perhaps ring and ask to see a photo of what you will be getting, but that probably won't help mu...
