“Maybe Okay a late lunch..skip dinner service!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2014

We had been out all day and were looking for a place on Sunday evening just to get a bite to eat near our vacation apartment. We walked in at 6:50 and asked if we could be seated for dinner. The man at the bar said "we stop serving at 8:00" - nothing else just that. His look was one that said you are too late to eat, but we were tired and didn't want to go elsewhere and we knew we would be in and out well before 8:00. We each had the beef special of rumpsteak and mushrooms with a salad. (we figured the special would be fast for them to get to the table.) And fast it was as our server ran around us from table to table like her hair was on fire - certainly not a pleasurable dinner experience! The food was fine for bar service and we each tried a dessert as it was only 7:30 by the time we finished dinner. The chocolate mousse wasn't anything special but the pear tart was okay. Cafe at lait was unfortunately weak and disappointing. Then we got someone else's check and had to flag our server down to make a correction.Wish we had moved on when we had the chance!

“Lunch after Louvre walking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2014

Had a late lunch after quite a few hours walking around the Louvre on 22 Dec 2013. Really good service. Gluten free companion had a steak or a salad as options.

Great little place for lunch stop when visiting lourve or palais royal. View of louvre whilst lunching and the square with entertainers. Highly enjoyable.

“great service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2013

The service is the star of this experience. Its a family owned business complete with the owners kids coloring at a table inside while dad did paperwork. Our server moved us from a small table to two larger ones because she said it would give us more room. She was very patient with us while we tried to interpret the menu, explained the beer selection and warned us about the gypsies who preyed on tourists. We will return for the service. We would recommend.

“Tranquil escape near the Louvre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2013

This is a great little brasserie just steps from the chaos of the Louvre! The menu has a wonderful variety of simple, comforting and delicious food, all offered at reasonable prices in a very warm and cozy environment. The ladies serving us couldn't have been better - and no where else in Paris were we treated with such a genuine welcome. We returned for lunch multiple times during our stay - and sampled everything from sandwiches, salads, and specials of the day - all made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. Nothing pretentious here, just good food at good prices served by good people. Do yourself a favor and plan a meal here!
