Ate here twice during a recent stay in the Montparnasse area. It's across the street from a creperie that is written up in many guidebooks, but I preferred both the atmosphere and food at Chez Jeanne. Particularly recommend the L'Adele, which had chicken, mushrooms, roast tomatoes and creme fraiche. For dessert, the crepe with poached pears and salted caramel was outrageously good. Try the cider, which is the perfect accompaniment for the crepes. It's a small place - only 10 tables, but full of wonderful food.

We thought we would go for Crepes for dinner and found many recommendations on Trip Advisor. For some reason, Rue Montparnasse has quite a few. Most if the restaurants were quite full but we came upon Chez Jeanne, and were quite happy with the result. The restaurant had a cozy homey feel and filled up quickly,
We had the Leone, stuffed with grilled vegetables and Goat cheese, and the Miclhele with ham potatoes, mushrooms and Creme fresche. For dessert we had the Brunky, with cooked pears, chocolate fondue, candied pralines served with a smooth Vanilla ice cream.
Service was friendly and quick, and the meal was very reasonably priced.

We abandoned the long queues in front of a famous creperie opposite Chez Jeanne and tried this one at random. We were delighted with our choice. The crepes were fresh with fresh fillings and the combinations original and delicious both for the savoury and sweet crepes. Real fruit is used in the fruit- filled crepes, not canned. We liked the choice of good Breton cider. Service was amongst the best we have encountered. We had a baby in a stroller with us and space was tight but we were found a place( with stroller despite tiny size of the restaurant). With amazing cheerfulness, the waitress even offered to hold our baby while we ate our dessert! Word of this quality and service will soon spread so go soon... It is small, though, so unable to cope with big groups. Ideal for tables of 2-4 maximum.
