Hotel Marquis Faubourg Saint - Honore
Ranked #1,003 of 1,804 Hotels in Paris
Reviewed 23 April 2014

I'm reluctant to write a review for the Marquis because we happened to just chance upon this hotel since the regular hotels were booked for our scheduled trip. I was worried we would be disappointed.
Now I am reluctant to write this review because I'm afraid too many people will learn about this gem of a hotel in the heart of Paris, making it difficult for us to book it again so easily.
The address tells all about the location. Our room was wonderful, as was the breakfast service each morning. But most of all, the wonderful gentleman at the front desk who not only helped us with our luggage, recommending restaurants, and all other miscellany, made our stay more than memorable. Personal beyond personal -- and in Paris, no less! Mark the Marquis, but don't tell anybody else! :)

We have hada great stay at this lovely hotel. The hotel is ideally located near Rue St Honore, and the decor is a tasteful mix of old and new. The Nespresso machine and movies on demand were very much appreciated. The service was terrific, with our room serviced every day and reception organising restaurants for each day of our stay.

We stayed six nights (2 rooms) for a family vacation. The experience was fabulous as we had 2 suites side by side on the third floor. The rooms are decorated with high end furnishings that are modern, comfortable and beautiful. The neighborhood is fashionable and just down the street from the presidential home and a short distance to Place de la Concorde. Thanks very much to the staff at Marquis FSH for a great stay. We'll be back - soon I hope.

We have just returned from Paris and 7 nights at the Marquis FSH and we can happily echo all of the 5-star ratings that this hotel has received. This property is exquisite and after visiting many other 5-star hotels during our time in Paris (Le Bristol, George V, Hotel Costes) staying at the Marquis really makes you appreciate the "under-the-radar luxury" to coin a phrase that the visitor from LA mentioned in an earlier post. From check in, to turndown service, to breakfast, we give this property top marks and the location is second to none - close to all of the chic shops in Paris and all the most popular sights. Worth every Euro that they charge!

Room Tip: Room #21 is spacious and has a large outdoor terasse if you visit during the warmer months. Did not...

We loved staying there! The rooms' design is outstanding.
Everything about our stay was perfect. The hotel is immaculate and beautiful. The staff are gracious and kind. Our breakfast was delicious. I cannot thank the hotel enough for providing us with such extraordinary hospitality.
I cannot wait to go back in the summer.

What a great location, beautiful hotel and such a great space inside our suite. Staff went over and beyond but the best part was the beautiful breakfast each day - our wish was their job to fulfill. We ordered room service when we wanted wine and the host ran to a nearby store to purchase just the right white wine to go with our cheese board. Really impressive with décor, staff and service. The room is very high-tech with free wii-fi and apple tv with keyboards to allow you to do any internet on your tvs. Wonderful and highly recommended.

Room Tip: Suites are amazing in space and décor.

I've stayed at some of the finest hotels worldwide and this one is one of the best I've ever experienced. But, it is for those who appreciate under-the-radar luxury and don't need the flash and excess of the typical five-star hotels in Paris. For that, stay at the Bristol down the street. A small entrance in the tony Fauborg St. Honore area yields a warm, comfortable ambience which perfectly balances the 18th century building roots with modern style and amenities. Our Executive Suite was roomy and beautifully done with three separate living spaces for sleep, living and bath. It was so sumptuous, but in a home-y, accessible way, that I wanted to move in and it was hard to leave after a week. The staff are all helpful and down-to-earth, but still need a little polishing in remembering tasks and being intuitive with guests' needs (they call the room a bit too much). The breakfast buffet is fine, but not the best I've had in Paris and certainly not worth 30 euros per person (ours was included and it should be for everyone). One slight gripe is that to aspire to be five-star and charge equivalent prices, they need a second turndown and clean-up service at night. All in all, the best hotel I've been at in Paris, and true winner!

Room Tip: We were on the Rue D'Anjou side which probably is a bit louder than the courtyard side. For exa...
