“Pretend you're a Parisienne!!!”

Stay at Bruno's charming B&B, and you can kid yourself into thinking you're a local. This outstanding B&B is so perfectly located - close to Bastille, but away from the tourists and the noise; an easy walk to the Metro, even with huge suitcases; the famous Sunday and Thursday market on rue Richard Lenoir is just down the road; a pleasant stroll to the Seine, with all its attraction quite close by; very close to the Marais; a collection of terrific restaurants just doors away; a laundromat just down the street, and a supermarket a couple of blocks away - it just couldn't be better.

Bruno is the quintessential host, as other reviewers have commented. He is charming, helpful, friendly, a great cook, and altogether the tops! The apartment is delightful, two spacious rooms each with a tiny balcony festooned with flowerpots, with views to the left of the Bastille monument and to the right of the distant Sacre Coeur at the top of Montmartre. The bed is comfortable, the sitting room full of personal touches, such as photographs, an extensive array of books, quirky little ornaments, and a fridge with chilled water waiting for you. The bathroom is just fine, given the space limits.

Bruno's breakfasts are legendary. Fresh baguettes and croissants straight from the boulangerie, yoghurt, fruit, ham, cheese, great coffee, home-made jams and marmalades (some made by Bruno's mother), and always something special which Bruno has cooked himself - it's everything you could want. Bruno will also cook you dinner, with sufficient notice, for a very reasonable amount, and it is very special to spend your first night in Paris having dinner in the home of a Parisian, who can really cook!

We stayed with Bruno at the beginning and the end of our recent trip, and he kindly made arrangements so that we could get into the apartment for the second visit, as he was out that evening. It is so reassuring to know that you can arrive and that you can get in, even if the owner is out. He also minded some excess luggage for us, for the 5 weeks we were somewhere else. So very kind ... And he helped us each time with our luggage up and down the 5 floors to his apartment.

I recommend Bruno's to anyone planning a visit to Paris - I challenge you to find anywhere better!

“Great location, good host”
Reviewed 22 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Bruno is a very welcoming and helpful host. The flat was clean and well organised. Breakfast was filling and very tasty (we liked the home made biscuits!). Lots of suggestions about what to do in Paris, where to go, how to get there, etc. Local area was lively, full of character and a great location (walking distance to Notre Dame via picturesque Place des Vosges). Def worth a stay.

“I could not have choosen a better place to stay for my visit to Paris”
Reviewed 18 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

I really can't say enough about how good my stay was at Bruno's apartment. He answered several questions I had before I arrived and was able to provide a lot of good information each morning at breakfast. The rooms were as advertised and the little balcony with nice views was relaxing to sit on after a long day of seeing the sights. The five flights of stairs were a little tiring but were not a problem for me. I looked at it as part of the Paris experience. The breakfast's were great and I even had him make a dinner for me one night. It was a very nice relaxing evening. The neighborhood was also good and I had easy access to the Metro and buses. I used both. It was also easy to walk to nearby restaurants, bars and shops. I highly recommend it.

“The Perfect Host”
Reviewed 15 February 2016 for a stay in September 2015

We couldn't have chosen a better location or host for our first trip to Paris. Before we arrived, Bruno gave us detailed instructions on how to reach his apartment from the airport, which was very helpful. Bruno greeted us with a smile at the door and made our trip very enjoyable. Amazing breakfasts, great conversation, and extremely helpful tips made the week a fantastic adventure. Staying just a few blocks from a landmark like the Bastille (which isn't actually there anymore, but there is a monument) made it very easy to find our way home in the evenings via city buses. The apartment was clean and well-maintained, though there is so much to do in Paris we didn't spend much time there. We loved every minute of our stay and recommend Bruno to anyone we know who is planning a visit to Paris!

“A Warm Welcome to the City of Lights”
Reviewed 9 January 2016 for a stay in October 2015

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Bruno and Bastille for one week in early October 2015.

Bruno really makes the experience. He is warm and welcoming and a wonderful guide and resource about Paris. He lives in the city he loves and is eager to share it with his guests. This B&B really offers a great price with a more authentic way to see and experience Paris. We were lucky to have stumbled upon this place while surfing the web, and have no doubt that, Bruno's passion and deep knowledge of the city, contributed to us having a uniquely memorable, enjoyable, and educational stay in one of the world's most beautiful cities.

Bruno's apartment is situated in a trendy neighborhood between the Bastille and Bréguet —Sabin Metro lines, which provide easy and quick access to all of Paris' main attractions. You truly feel like you're living in the heart of the city. Bruno also took the time to show us a number of bus stops, conveniently located near the apartment, that would allow us to see even more.

The accommodations were cozy, clean, and contemporary. The best part about the unit is that is allows you to feel like you live in the city like a true Parisienne. The unit has its own private entry and includes a sitting room and bedroom. The sitting room is a great place to hang out in the morning before you start your day, a sanctuary to relax and re-energize late afternoon/early evening before a nighttime adventure, or to relax during the evenings as you regale tales of the day. There room also includes tons of great brochures, guidebooks, maps and other materials to help you plan your visit. The resources are endless.

Bruno is very knowledgeable about the city and provides great "off the beaten path"/ "less touristy" recommendations for restaurants, museums, excursions, and other fun things to do in and around the city, including insider tips such as the best time of day to visit various locations to beat the crowds.

One of the best recommendations we received was to visit the famous Bastille market (located a few blocks away) where you can find any and everything - cheese, meat, bread, flowers, vegetables, fruits, wines, and much more. We might not have visited the market on our own, but really enjoyed the experience, and were glad for the recommendation.

Bruno provides great daily housekeeping and a nice light breakfast of fruits, meats, cheeses, and breads to get you started on your way.

“Great stay”
Reviewed 4 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

This property is well located, both for walking and for its proximity to useful metro lines. Because it is a private room in the host's flat, it offers a nice combination of privacy and interpersonal contact. Bruno is an excellent host. It was always interesting to come back to the flat after having been out for the afternoon and finding books or brochures about places related to our breakfast conversation.
One of the things Bruno does best is cook. I highly recommend you arrange with him to cook dinner for you. It is quite a treat and well worth it!
I would stay here again.
