The staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful without being intrusive; the hotel light, airy and spacious for Paris. Books, sofas and interesting contemporary art gave the clean white interior a comfortable, relaxing, human feel. The furniture in my room, though basic, was quite fun and original. Nice bathroom, with a powerful shower. Breakfast was good quality, especially for Paris - with freshly squeezed orange juice, excellent cheese and a range of truly delicious jams. Lastly, the location: a quiet crescent street with no traffic, half way between Opera and Pigalle. Only 3 mins' walk to the nearest metro, and just round the corner from cafés and restaurants serving French, Lebansese and Indian food on Place Gustave Toudouze.

I was traveling to Paris to visit a friend with my sister, and we had originally planned to stay with our friend who has a small room near the Champs Elysees. To cut a long story short, a bit of miscommunication, some misunderstanding, and quite some time later, it turned out that we would be without a place to stay. That was less than a week before our flight to Paris. I began nervously looking through holiday rentals and apartments, found most of them unavailable during our time of visit since it was August and tourist season. I stumbled upon this hotel in an article from Conde Nast Traveller about stylish and affordable hotels in Paris. It was the only affordable and still available hotel on the list when I checked, and so I booked it not having thought too much about it.
We arrived at the hotel a day late due to delay in our flight. It took us a couple of changes in metro line to get to the St. Georges station, but from there it was only a couple of minutes of walk away. The hotel itself is small but cute, quiet and tucked in a side street. The staffs were very helpful and polite. Our room faced the building out front, so there wasn't much of a view to speak of. I was expecting a much smaller room, Paris being such a small and expensive city. But perhaps being from Hong Kong my definition of small is different from most of the rest of the world. I think my room (206) was quite spacious, and it was clean and comfortable.
The location of the hotel, in my opinion, is great. As I mentioned, it is two minutes from St. Georges metro station, less than ten to Pigalle. About ten to fifteen minutes north is Montmartre, while Galeries Lafayette and Printemps are about the same in the southwest direction. Rue des Martyrs nearby has a few restaurants that are quite good, including Rose Bakery.
As other reviewers had mentioned before me, the lighting in the room can be a little dim, although I didn't find it overly problematic. I am also used to having a mini fridge in my hotel room, but as I gathered from another hotel in Amsterdam that is not a common amenity in European hotels.
All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to people. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staffs were all nice and helpful. I had a great time staying there while visiting Paris.

This is a charming boutique hotel and an absolute bargain. It's in a great location - 20 minutes walk from Gare du Nord, 10 minutes from the Moulin Rouge and Clichy area and 15 minutes to the Madeleine shopping district - we didn't need to take a taxi once! There are also some great, well priced restaurants within a five minute walk of the hotel too.

There rooms are petit, but comfortable and have a bed, TV, clothes rail and bedside table/bookcase. The bathroom is spacious and we had a lovely, powerful shower. There is also a safe and the key is available from reception.

The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. There's also a bar area just in front of reception, which has a well stocked library of books and is a great place to relax.

Wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

The hotel was so comfortable, beautifully decorated and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were excellent and very helpful.
The hotel is located within walking distance of 3 metro stations which meant it was easy to visit all of the major tourist attractions. It was only a short walk to Sacre Coeur.
Delicious restaurants nearby, with reasonably priced menus .
I can't wait to stay again.

My daughter and I found Hotel Arvor rated on Conde Naste's top boutique hotels. After our 4-night stay recently, we could not agree more! The location proved to be perfect...near the Metro stops for ease of getting to all the Paris must sees; walking distance to the Sacre Coeur; sweet neighborhood with many excellent eateries and great small Parisian shops and stores; and late at night, we felt very safe walking home.
The hotel employees were fabulous and so welcoming (and speak English perfectly); the charm of the hotel is seen on every level. Each morning an inviting breakfast area is set up; we enjoyed coffee and tea taken to our room as we prepared for the day. The small bar/espresso area served anything you might desire, and the patio area is perfect to sit and soak up the sun.
Our room was so clean and perfect for the two of us! We feel as though we found a little slice of heaven that complemented our mother-daughter vacation get-a-way!
Merci beaucoup, Hotel Arvor! We shall be back again ;-)

Hotel Arvor is a great hotel for an even better price. The hotel feels authentically French with unfussy yet quaint, modern decor. All members of the hotel staff that we interacted with were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We booked the smallest room in the hotel, and it was an exceptional value with a large bathroom.

One of our mistakes -- and this is mostly because we were ignorant Americans -- was thinking that we'd seen that the hotel had air conditioning. It does not, and we learned during our stay that this is typical of French establishments so it is something to be aware of when you're traveling. While a surprise, this did not detract from the hotel itself. Fortunately, it cooled off considerably during the night so we were able to leave the windows open, and the hotel's quiet location helped to provide a good night's sleep.

The breakfast was on special for eight euro, and it was very reasonable and fresh breakfast. We were up early enough one morning to see that the baked goods were brought in fresh from whatever bakery from which they order them.
