Excellent stay i've had at this place. Such a clean place, nice people to help you anytime, giving you tips on whatever you need. Location couldn't be better. I totally recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to go to Paris and have a nice stay as well.

Excellent location, nice hotel, helpful personnel. Definitely will stay here again when I go back to Paris. Comfortable hotel. My daughter and I felt at home all the time. It has the perfect location, close to fruit market, bus stops, restaurants and train station.

The best thing about this hotel is the location - you go out and you are almost at Notre Dame Cathedral! The room was clean, cosy and really warm. And there was a lovely lady at the reception desk!
We lived on a 4th floor and there was no elevator - it wasn't a problem for us, but if you are not used to it, ask for a room on the lower floors. If you stay in a room without the bathroom waiting for a shower may be a bit annoying, as there are only two of them, located next to reception desk.

I would love to give H. D. Commerce more than 3 stars - but i can't. The room was clean and neat when we arrived but there was no cleaning in the room or renewal of towels during our 4 nights stay. In my opinion that's no good enough even if it's a cheap hotel!
We arrived late so the 24/7 reception was a cool thing. But maybe the staff should have a crash-course in customer service. The interaction is okay, but they don't seem to care about you. They pay more attention to a computer hidden under the counter. But they do take good care of your key while you're out in the city, and I'm sure they will help you if you experience problems - fortunately we didn't.
If you choose to stay in this hotel make sure yo get a room with toilet and shower. Otherwise you have to shower on the ground floor and use toilets in the aisles. The reception is reeking of a hideous perfume infused though the air-con. That is not nice, especially if you're eating food in the lobby. Advice to the Hotel management: Hold back on the air freshener.
The location is fantastic - close to everything. Try the Tibetan restaurant Lhassa across the street!

All in all i will recommend Hotel du Commerce to people looking for cheap accommodation in Paris. It is in the lower price range, therefore the spartan conditions are tolerable.

Will I stay there again? Maybe..

Room Tip: Choose a room with toilet and shower

Walking distance to the metro, close to monuments, found staff to be friendly. There were two of us and we stayed in a room on the ground floor. Good value for the area. No frills, but I would stay here again!

Nothing much I can say about the service. Unfriendly, no smile, and no 'merci' upon payment and departure. The location is good because it's very close to Notre Dame and The Panthéon. Plenty of cafés nearby, and there's a couple of Tibetan cuisine just opposite. I checked in quite late at night, close to 10pm. If you happen to check in at night too, don't be horrified when you see that the red colored spiral stairs are only very dimly lit, because there is a light switch on each floor. Turn it on as you ascended the stairs.

I was given a room on the 5th floor with a private bathroom. The common toilet is along the corridor. My room and the shower stall were surprisingly spacious and very clean. But walls were thin so it might be a problem to light sleepers. The bed is comfortable with clean sheets and pillows. The heater wasn't working very well, but it was late summer so it's fine. For £68 per night, I think I may stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on lower floors with private bathroom.

The location of this Hotel is excellent. The rooms are clean, simple and confortable.
The rooms 1 to 6 and 40 doesn't belong trully to the building, and if you want to go to bathroom you have to cross a private street... and the bathroom is at the reception!
They cashed in 2euros for each shower that i have taken!
