“Great find!”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

This hotel was a great find, and we had an excellent experience here. The staff were unfailingly helpful, especially Pauline and Said. The rooms were small, but adequate, and were very clean. Although on a wide boulevard, we had no problem with noise. The wireless internet worked well. The neighborhood seems very safe, and is not full of tourists and touristy restaurants. There is a nice little neighborhood shopping street near the Paroisse l'Immaculee Conception, with, among other things, a wonderful chocolate shop, a Greek deli, and a good shoe store. Great proximity to the Metro. We would be happy to stay here again.

We did a 2 night "layover" here while traveling from Brittany to Amsterdam. It was very well situated to 2 metro stops making it easy to get anywhere in the city. The room was clean and modern, although naturally small by U.S. standards, as well as the bathroom was a very good size (especially by Paris standards). Although the breakfast buffet was 9,50€ (most hotels in the U.S. don't charge for continental breakfast) it had a good variety and the big plus was unlimited coffee! That alone was worth 9,50€!

The area the hotel is in is definitely not "touristy" and I would say off the beaten path, which was a plus to us. There are plenty of cafés, bakerys, and restaurants in the immediate area, including a Quick burger (kind of a French McDonalds) with self ordering kiosks in French and English, which makes ordering easy.

The only very slight negative would be the constant rumble of the RER, which must run underneath the hotel, but quite honestly it was not a problem. After a long day of sightseeing, it did not hamper our sleeping.

We were glad we chose Hotel du Printemps for our stay in Paris.

I stayed here in last year. It is in a great location. Simple but comfortable accommodation. Small rooms and corridors but all perfectly clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was from a small buffet with simple continental breakfast fare. It set me up for the day and meant I could top up on caffeine before hitting the city centre, where I was not prepared to spend 5 euros on a cup of tea!! All staff were friendly but not imposing. I thought it was a great base for seeing Paris, in a quiet street but busy enought to feel safe in the evening, near to the metro station. I also walked back from the centre of Paris once and it only took about an hour I think.

The great reviews with the affordable pricing were the reasons me and my sister booked this hotel for our 10 days trip in Paris - and we weren't disappointed at all! Wonderful little hotel with great location, atmosphere and staff.

Staff was very helpful and they all spoke fluent english. The check-in was one of the fastest I have ever had in a hotel and everything we asked for help the staff was more than helpful! They ordered us a taxi when we almost missed our show at Moulin Rouge due to the changing of time (our clocks were still in winter time) and we made it there in time to enjoy wonderful show! They also gave us lots of tips and suggestions whenever we needed one. And the ride back to the airport was great - the driver helped us with our luggage and also came in head of chedule so we saved lots of time for some tax free shopping at the airport!

Location of the hotel is excellent. Nation and Picpus metro stations are close and you could go almost everywhere in the city from there. Also RER line to Disneyland Paris goes through Nation if you travel with kids and want to go there or the Vallee Outlet Village. Also the tram line is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel and lots of buslines have stops at Nation. In fact we took a bus from airport when we came to Paris and enjoyed seeing a bit different kind of Paris (not all pretty neighborhoods though). As the are is mostly residential you can find lots of great shops, supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants nearby. Also several parks for kids to play. The street is very quiet - only thing which might bother someone is the metro that runs under the hotel until midnight... however we stayed on 3rd floor and you could hardly sense the metro going - so no problems with sleeping for us!

Rooms are always small in Paris - so we were quite pleased with the size of our room. As it is Paris we expected something even smaller. On a 10 day trip we obviously got a lots of stuff (mostly samples from the tradeshow we participated) but when you used some imagination you could with lots of stuff in the cabinets and closet - and also on top of them! Rooms were really nicely decorated and very well cleaned daily! Thanks for the awesome cleaning ladies!

Most of the time we left the hotel so early that we couldn't wait for the breakfast - however there was lots of places in Paris to pick up the breakfast from bakery and go to a park to enjoy it! On the last morning we got a chance to try the breakfast and we loved it! It's pricey and not of varitety for skandinavian standars (in skandinavia we have huge breakfast buffets at hotels), but in Paris it's well worth the money. We specially loved the tasty bread selection and freshly squeezed orange juice tasted awesome!

Overall this hotel is the best 2 star hotel I have ever stayed - in fact I have stayed much worse 4 star hotels! When I come back to Paris I will definitely book a room in this gorgeous gem of Paris again!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper ask a room from the patio side of the hotel and one that's in upper f...

I've got to be honest, I booked this hotel on the strength of the positive reviews on Tripadvisor. All seemed good and well - clean, tidy room - quiet side of town though? Well yes, except - do not under any circumstances check into room number 1. It's too noisy - it has the reception immediately adjacent on one wall, the patio area where people smoke outside your bedroom window, the stairs leading to 1st floor rooms right above your bed so you hear every footstep and christ almighty you have the Metro directly beneath!! It's sounds like an airplane taking off every 2 minutes - thankfully it stops around midnight, but be prepared for a 5.30 wake up call when the Metro springs into action again - regular as clockwork.
Staff were polite and friendly, but 9.50 Euros for a breakfast consisting of croissants, cereal and a boiled egg buffet? Two days breakfast therefore cost 38 euro for two - a bit of a cheek when you consider the food on offer. I'd go elsewhere in future. 3/5 but honestly it could just as easily have been less. Dissappointed.

Dear Jason S
Thank you for sharing your views after your stay with us. We are sorry to learn that you found your room noisy and that you were not satisfied by the buffet breakfast. We can understand that some people are very sensible to noise especially in a big town like Paris. However, despite your statement “I got to be honest” the content of your review seems to be a bit (a lot) exaggerated. Pretend that our buffet breakfast is comprised of only three items or that you hear an airplane taking off every two minutes in room #1 is a disappointing attitude for someone who claims to be a senior contributor on TripAdvisor. Our hotel is a small and quiet city establishment and our clients are in general very respectful of the others. Room #1 is a spacious double room of 21m² on the ground floor facing the patio and separated from the reception by a corridor with a door which can be easily closed if necessary. In Paris the metro is never very far and it is true that you can feel in room #1 a distant rumble of the RER passing under the rue du rendez-vous at approximately 25 m below street level. It is not systematic depending on the traffic and most of the guests are not disturbed by it. I understand that you have been disappointed to have a room on the ground floor when others will like it. I wish you good luck for your next trip.
Regards

The rooms were very clean. The staff were very helpful and very polite and well spoken. The location is just a few steps away from the metro and some very nice eating places e.g. some fantastic food (try the non-alcolholic cocktails!) at 'Cafe Cosy' and a tea house (can't remember the name). There is a Carrefour convenience store as well as a Boulangerie just round the corner. Although in the midst of all facilities, the street is surprisingly quiet! The hotel lounge is a nice area to hang around for a while with a very nice ambience. The air-conditioning in the room made it very comfortable in the very warm weather during mid-July. All matters were handled very efficiently by the staff, so that the stay seemed effortless and very comfortable.

Finding the hotel should be easy if the exit is planned via the Picpus underground station. The hotel staff was very helpful in arranging a taxi for me, when I was leaving, to the CDG aeroport. The taxi price seemed very reasonable and 'share' options are also available at certain times. So not a bad option if carrying heavy luggage.

One thing that was really inconvenient was the lack of space to put things on in the room. So had a tough time juggling things around and using the bed as a table top at times, besides the suitcase. The other thing is that, although wi-fi is free, the connection at room is not very reliable. However, urgent matters could be dealt with as there is a computer at the reception downstairs which could be used on such occasions. Also, there is a printer attached to this computer downstairs, and print is free.

Room Tip: The 5th floor room shower and toilets are not barred by walls, so the room looks larger. Could be us...

This hotel is exactly as it is shown in their site. Beautiful furniture, very clean, helpfull staff. Our triple room was spacious for a hotel room in Paris, where the rooms are very very small. We even put a 4th bed without a problem for one night. The breakfast is not included, but for 9,5euros the small buffet had everything: serials, eggs, cheese, yogurt, croissant+other small sweets, small cakes, bread, jam, orange juice, fresh fruitsalad and every coffee you wanted+chocolate, tea and milk. The place is perfect with a metro stop just around the corner and Nation square 100 metres from the hotel, with 6 metro lines and RER line.Very convenient to go everywhere!!
