For a family trip (my mother and two pre-teen daughters), we simply couldn't afford the expensive and tiny city-center accommodations in Paris. This little gem in a more residential neighborhood offered an ideal hotel experience for our 9-day exploration of Paris.
Location: More residential, out of the tourist area, to the east of Paris proper. Very close to Nation metro station, where we we started our journey to points all around and outside of Paris. Walking distance to the Bastille--we actually walked all the way to the Marais, but note that we enjoy walking to take in the sights. BEST PART: Walk along the street immediately behind and parallel to Picpus, which offers the quintessential arrangement of charming, authentic shops: bakeries, cheese shop, and the lovely Tony Fruits, where we stopped almost every morning to purchase the most glorious fruits ever seen! Finding this street on our first evening became one of the highlights of our trip. There's another boulangerie right on the corner, a brasserie at the small circle at the end of the block, and a quaint Italian restaurant a few doors down. This offers a REAL Parisian experience.
Accommodations: Hotels in Paris are small, so let's be real. Our room was cozy and well laid out. The small bathroom was impeccably remodeled. Rooms were clean daily. Front desk staff were welcoming and spoke English well enough to help us with metro directions and restaurant recommendations. We did not partake in the hotel breakfast (extra cost), but the owners always welcomed us into the lobby/dining area with our morning purchases when we returned each morning with our fresh croissants and tiny black coffees.
So...this isn't a five-star property; however, Hotel du Printemps offered charming, neat, and cozy accommodations in a neighborhood that provided new experiences that added to our Paris vacation.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms at the very end was quiet.

Dear LB Rabbit
What a wonderful review, thank you so much. We are so pleased to see that you have so well taken advantage of all what our hotel and neighborhood can offer: a real Parisian experience, a convenient location and a good quality price ratio. As you mentioned, Rue du rendez-vous with all its little food shops is a real happiness. We are really glad that you and your family enjoyed your Paris vacation and look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
Take care

This hotel was a long ways away from the city center. The room was so small there was barley enough room to walk beside the bed. You had to duck so as not to hit your head on a wall light. The wall so thin you could hear everything around you, Including the sounds of the common bathroom by our head board. Bathroom small but usable. Breakfast was extra but it was difficult to find anyplace close to eat so we paid. Not a big choice but enough to start the day. Staff was nice and helpful. I think there are much better choices out there. Especially as I felt the price was way too high for what you get.

Dear jwlak
Thank you for sharing your views after your stay with us and for your compliment on our staff. We are sorry to learn that you were not satisfied with the size of your room and the location of the hotel. Both are clearly described on our website or in our free application hotelduprintempsparis which also includes a list of some of the many restaurants, cafés and shops at walking distance of the hotel. Out of the hordes, our neighborhood offers a real Parisain experience and I regret that you didn’t enjoy it.
Best regards

We stayed in Hotel du Printemps for 3 nights in June 2014. I can really recommend this Hotel for affordable accommodation in Paris. Rooms small but clean and a pleasure to stay in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for room viewing the street.

Was not far from the metro station, check in and out was no problem and there is a bakery down the street on the way to the metro which is a great way to start the day. We didn't go for the breakfast as there are other places close by. Great stay overall

Room Tip: Higher rooms are better. Street noise isn't too big of an issue.

Immaculate hotel in a quiet residential district of Paris. Yes the rooms are tiny but its to sleep and shower in - who wants to sit in their room whilst in Paris! Picpus is lovely with many bars, restaurants, shops etc and its so nice to escape to hustle and bustle of central Paris and retire to the suburbs. The hotel is an easy 4-5 minute stroll from either Nation or Picpus Metro station.

Good shower with plenty of hot water but the shower curtains need to go! We had a room at the front of the hotel which I was a little nervous due to road noise but we never heard a thing and slept well. The lovely huge windows open wide Juliette balcony style.

We thought the breakfast was excellent value for 9 Euros. You can help yourself to as little or as much as you want. It lends itself heavily towards green products with free range eggs, organic jams, butter, yoghurts and the generous toiletries are all organic too.

Friendly and helpful reception staff and flawless check in and out.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Du Printemps. Totally lived up to our expectations and the positive reviews on TripAdvisor that have gone before. Cannot really fault the hotel. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. This hotel located away from the center of Paris is ideally located for access to the Metro and RER. The residential suburb is quiet and secure. Local restaurants nearby offer great food and good value. Getting around on the Metro was a breeze and a choice of two easily accessible stations close to the hotel makes all the difference between staying at more expensive hotels close to the city center and this great value option. Considering the exchange rate between the South African rand and the Euro makes this Hotel great value for money. Would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Try for the superior double on or above the 2nd floor facing the boulevard. The Metro runs below the...

Husband, teen son, and I stayed for 3 nights. We had 3-bed room and it was VERY spacious -- even by American standards. Décor was lovely. Very clean and tidy. Location convenient to local, non-touristy restaurants, patisseries, grocery, etc. and easy walk to 2 metro stations. Only down-side is you do have to take metro to get to any major "attractions". 3 of the 4 staff we encountered were VERY helpful. Only one was a bit surly upon our arrival and seemed bothered by ANY questions, but others made up for this. Breakfast so-so -- not bad for the money, but if we had realized how many bakeries were in the area, we might have skipped one day and gone that route. Helped with taxi service -- saving us substantially on trip to Versailles by calling around and negotiating rate for us (rail service was down, and we would have missed this excursion if not for her help).
