We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel.
It has typical period features and is situated in a great location!

The staff did not have much knowledge about the local bars and restaurants but the hotel is close to the quieter Opera House district or the avenues near Notre Dame.

The en suite was probably last decorated in 1970. However the shower was really powerful and a very relaxing soak. The bed linen made us itch a little but the beds were quite comfy.

All in all, despite the carpeted walls and being about 6 decades out of date, this hotel is actually quite alright!

Although the rooms are a bit tight and the walls a bit thin, the location of this hotel makes up for everything. Public transport buses stop right in front of the entrance door and the metro stops are a few minutes walk. You can visit the Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens by up to 10 minutes walk. Getting here from Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord is extremely easy with bus line 38 or Metro line no.4.

This was a one night stay after a rugby international. Clean, warm and comfortable. Basic facilities - but very friendly and welcoming staff.

The location is great - 5 minute walk from Notre Dame and at the heart of the left bank restaurants, bars clubs etc.

Probably not great for more than two or three nights but for a short trip on a budget it is difficult to see how it can be beaten for value for money.

If you just need a room to sleep in while you tour Paris, without needing to break the bank to pay for exorbitant Paris hotels, then Hotel de Suez is a good choice. But that's just about it - do not expect anything more. The light is a bit dim, and the walls are definitely thin --- maybe we were just unfortunate that time when we went, we could hear the voices loud and clear from the next room. Kinda seedy, in that sense. Otherwise, no complaints.

This is my second time staying at Hotel Suez. Both times were great! The hotel has a really cute elevator that helps with bringing up luggage. It's also close to the restaurants in the Latin Quarters, a very awesome area to walk around in. Also, a short walk to Jardin Luxembourg which is great place to take walks in.

The rooms were cozy and clean, I would definitely recommend a stay in this hotel.
