I stayed in this hotel for three nights. I traveled Paris from Nice by TGV train and got down at Gare De Lyon Station. This hotel is very close to metro station also. To reach this hotel from Gare De Lyon take metro and get down at St. Michael Station. From St. Michael Station, this hotel is approximately five to seven minutes’ walk. Otherwise this hotel can be reached from Gare De Lyon by bus 63 to “Cluny”. This hotel is more or less neat and clean and has 24 hrs. Reception desk. Room rent is reasonable as per Paris standard. It is five to seven minutes’ walk from famous Notre Dame Cathedral. The room is big. Also the toilet was big and clean. Bus stop is exactly opposite to this hotel for going to Paris Nord.

Breakfast is not included in the room rent. It costs EUR 6.95 per person per day. I never tried with their breakfast, hence cannot comment on that. But looks to be most ordinary. They charge 0.99 EUR city tax extra. Elevator is extraordinarily small. One person with one small luggage can use elevator. No complimentary tea or coffee maker in the room.

Very small hotel but it was cozy and we were hardly ever there. The room is very basic but was always clean. Rooms are small but that's usual for Paris hotels. There was enough room for 2 of us and our suitcases. Room didn't have a view but did have a window that opened up to view another building right next to us. We spent most of our time exploring so it didn't really bother us. We were only ever there to shower and sleep. I did like that there was someone at front desk 24/7 and that they lock the front doors after hours. Made me feel safe. All you had to do was ring the door bell and they let you in right away. You have to leave your key at front desk every time you leave too, which was annoying at first but afterwards we realized it's a good idea just in case you lose your keys. The gentleman that was on the night shift was so nice. Never got his name but he was always so helpful with directions. All in all it was a decent place.

We last stayed at Hotel de Suez about 20 years ago, and were surprised to see no updates had been made since then. Pros: close to Metro station and RER, lots of good restaurants within walking distance, safe neighborhood, near Notre Dame, Cluny museum, Pantheon and other sightseeing in the area, Wi-Fi was adequate. Desk staff always available. Cons: no converters or USB adapters available through hotel, limited breakfast available which was not included with stay, desk staff not very knowledgeable about good restaurants nearby and furniture very dated and worn. Overall it's a no frills place to sleep.

Room Tip: Very small elevator, lots of stairs.

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel.
It has typical period features and is situated in a great location!

The staff did not have much knowledge about the local bars and restaurants but the hotel is close to the quieter Opera House district or the avenues near Notre Dame.

The en suite was probably last decorated in 1970. However the shower was really powerful and a very relaxing soak. The bed linen made us itch a little but the beds were quite comfy.

All in all, despite the carpeted walls and being about 6 decades out of date, this hotel is actually quite alright!

Although the rooms are a bit tight and the walls a bit thin, the location of this hotel makes up for everything. Public transport buses stop right in front of the entrance door and the metro stops are a few minutes walk. You can visit the Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens by up to 10 minutes walk. Getting here from Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord is extremely easy with bus line 38 or Metro line no.4.
