I went to a lot of trouble to select a hotel that would be affordable, well located and French, rather than an anonymous chain hotel. This small, family run hotel is highly recommended and met all of our requirements. The surrounding area was ideal in the evening, good bars and restaurants on the door step and as two women travellers we never felt uneasy. Short distance to Sacre Coeur and the wonderful views over the city, particularly after dark with the Eiffel Tower twinkling away in the distance. Hotel staff were charming and most helpful. Our twin room was very comfortable and the bathroom has to be the cleanest I've ever found in a hotel. Bedding very good quality also and the furnishings in general. As we were celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday she was delighted with the mini champagne and chocolates in the room. The Abbesses tube station is just around the corner so easy to access all the places on our list. We felt as though we had emerged onto a French film set the first time we emerged from this art nouveau station. There were balconies, shutters, café life, and an impromptu choir gathered around a piano, which invites passers-by to play.
Basement (continental) breakfast room was also available for self service free tea and coffee/pastries until 11.p.m. and was most welcome.
Would be delighted to stay here again.More
