“Decent hotel with free wi-fi let down by poor breakfast”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2013

I spent one night in this hotel for a work trip. The hotel is clean and efficient - nothing fancy but recently decorated with modern design, and comfortable beds. There was a little noise from the street outside, but the double glazing did a good job at keeping it at bay and my sleep wasn't disturbed. There is free wi-fi included and while it wasn't very fast it was perfectly adequate for dealing with email and checking web pages.

The location was extremely convenient for me as my meeting was very close. I was able to travel there directly on the metro from the Eurostar terminal at Gare du Nord, and it is just 100m from the St Marcel metro station. The price was reasonable and I will certainly stay there again.

There were two problems:
1) I was there during a very cold spell (down to -10 C) and while the room was warm the bathroom was on the cold side. I don't think this would be a problem in normal conditions.
2) The breakfast cost extra but was rather limited, and the milk was off. It was replaced immediately when I pointed this out but I wasn't inclined to try it again! In future I will just have breakfast at a nearby cafe.

Perfect clean small quiet rooms with nice shower. Decor all nice. tasteful and very new. The lift was very helpful as my wife is limping at the moment. A taxi to Austerlitz station can be a problem after 07:00 as it is too close. Easy walk if your luggage has enough wheels. Last not least, the price was most reasonable. Will stay again, maybe longer.

Room Tip: 102 first floor front was fine. Heard only the loudest motorbikes. Have not a clue but I imagine all...

Nice little hotel - quite affordable for a totally refurnished and refurbished place - rooms are quite small but this is the same for most hotels in Paris - complementary breakfast is fine, despite the fact that it is located in the basement but they made an effort to make the place comfortable and lightly.
Overall, this is excellent value for money in Paris! There is a terrific restaurant nearby (just one or two streets upper) "Les Variations" with some familial "cuisine du sud-ouest": definitively a must-go!

We stayed 5 nights in October 2012.The location was good-close to metro and we found the service at reception polite and helpful at all times. We did ,however struggle with the Wi Fi-it just didn't work for us unless very early morning or very late at night.
The room was smallish-perfectly normal for Paris.Good bathroom, cute Juliette balcony and the room was cleaned up for us daily. What more can you want at that price?
A tip-check their website before booking;they offer specials.

Much better than I expected, great location to be in to get to Italian quarter easily. Easy to get to from train stations, right by a metro station. Good beds, amazing shower. Would stay again next time I go to Paris.

A tiny hotel in a very quiet part of Paris. Initially worried that we were too far from Paris but this turned out to be a blessing - on a very quiet yet main street south of the Seine, plenty of restaurants and eateries on Blvd Saint-Marcel and very close to 2 train stations.
The room was freshly renovated with modern furnishings throughout. An incredibly shower! The room was small, but with only two of us, it wasn't an issue.
A familiar air of French haughtiness with the reception and a strange policy of returning the room key when departing for the day, however with a small effort of "Bonjour" will ensure you receive a polite reply and friendly service. There were renovations whilst we were staying, however this did not affect our stay whatsoever. The breakfast was well stocked, and the hotel was very quiet, giving the impression perhaps we were the only guests, which didn't bother us at all.
We were told breakfast was extra (perhaps 10 euros?), although on checkout we weren't charged and I don't think the receptionist minded at all.
Initially a little difficult to find with a tiny sign on a door, but this may have changed since the renovations.
Stay at Devillas if you want a lovely, clean, modern, quiet, conveniently located hotel away from the bustle of Paris.

Location excellent, netro and gare d'Austerlitz opposite hotel. Accomodation was kept immaculate and pristine, 5/5 for that ( all very white refurb in 2011), you wont be disappointed. Lift is small so 1 pram and one person or 1 wheelchair and 1 person only! Breakfast was good (tea/coffee and juices, cereals, breads, condiments, emmental cheese and nutella, when I mentioned hot food we got scrambled egg and sausage the next day - excellent!). The 2 female catering/domestic staff were very friendly and congenial and hence my 3 year old is still saying bonjour a fortnight after our stay. The reception staff are efficient but not so friendly and seemed unapproachable - unlikely to raise head to say hello or good bye to guests - its these small efforts that make a guest feel welcome and leave a lasting impression of good customer service. Child's cot was not in room upon arrival despite request being made prior to booking, was told by shift reception person ( a student it seemed that it wasnt his job but he got me a cot after much effort). Reception staff could be more affable and do more to promote the hotel to the guest by asking guests if they waqnt tourist info etc and by being more informed about church services locally, restaurants they'd recommend within walking distance, best ways to sightsee etc. however you will not feel inclined to approach them to ask for such information. I would definitely stay again as it is an excellent base from whihc to come and go.Quite a few eating places to chose from and the restaurant Austerlitz on Boulevard de l'hopital nearby ( end of boulevard) is excellent and reasonably priced - go there for dinner, do not go to the Brasserie/Restaurant sunk fe (? simlar name!). There are botanic gardens /museum and a small zoo at end of the boulevard, great for the kids and pics! few small supermarkets nearby including monprix so handy, shops in other direction. Beside the park is a Mc Donalds. Oppos. Jardins du plantes are the banks of the Seine (5 mins walk from hotel ) and Notre Dame (10 mins walk from hotel), we used les cars rouge getting on the buses at Notre Dame was excellent and a good way to sight see and travel when you're a wheelchair user as metro is out of the question. Taxi €60-70 from CDG airport, dearer in rush hour.

Room Tip: We had balconies which were a lovely touch to our stay, but of little consequence as there is no vie...
