A great value. Easy walking to major sights and metro stops. The rooms are "European", that is to say small. Room, bath and bedding were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great. The hotel staff was very nice, answering any questions. The neighborhood will be the next Marais within five years.

Room Tip: The street was a little noisier than it looked. Our friends had a room on the airshaft that was quie...

Located near Bastille this hotel offers good service, facilities and rooms, though small, for a fair price. If you want to safe some money on the hotel and have more budget for musea and restaurants this is a good choice. There are plenty good restaurants and bars around, not only with tourists but also french people.

Grand Hotel Amelot was very centrally located in Marais, very easy to reach by Metro. There are many good restaurants nearby, and the nightlife seems to be quite active. The neighborhood is still quite peaceful, and I wasn't afraid to walk to the hotel at night.
The room was very small, but there were three adequate beds - we were two adults and a teenager - and the room was also nice and clean. Nothing special. I did not try the hotel breakfast which was not included in the room price. The staff was very friendly; nothing like some reviewers have experienced - I suppose it depends who is working behind the counter when you happen to visit.

Room Tip: Our room was facing the courtyard, I suppose it is quieter there, but on the lowest floors there'...

Friendly reseptionists and a great location if you whant to spend time at Marais and Bastille.
The area has lots of good restaurants to a resonable price. Rue Amelot it self also offers some great night life, if thats youre thing.
The room was relly small, but who whants to spend time at the hotel when in a city like Paris?

We absolutely will come back to this hotel.

My experience here went well overall.

It is a clean, charming, and comfortable hotel to stay in. For English-speakers worried about language barriers... Manager doesn't speak much English but my family managed to communicate with him through the universal language of hand gestures, printouts of our online booking, and my inadequate skills in French lol. Night guy is pretty fluent in English. Unlike what other guests experience, my family were actually greeted by the staff and got our answers questioned. The manager does appear a bit grumpy, but my family did not have any problems with him.

Room looked clean and decorative. The view from our window was pretty ghetto, but it was bearable for the price my family paid for. Bathroom comes with a blow-dryer, obviously some towels, and just a soap dispenser in the shower. The shower we had had a full-length mirror inside so you could check yourself out naked ;). Beds were neatly made and comfortable to sleep on. I like how the room also provided fleece blankets :D!

Great Location! Close proximity to local markets, restaurants, stores, and most importantly, metro stations such as Richard Lenoir and four other ones you can look up on Google map!

Very unfriendly receptionists. No bonjour or bonsoir ever heard for four days, never managed to get eye contact when going in or out. The room was very small. The bed was ok, but had some stains on the blanket. The air inside didn't feel fresh as both of us felt allergic after the first night. The carpet on the floor didn't feel clean either. In the bathroom there were some spots of mold in the shower area. All in all, not a friendly place to be.

The location is good, though. Not in the centre of everything, but just a short walk from the Marais district and about 600 meters from Bastille. Several metro stations nearby. A small food shop and a boulangerie just meters away.

I'm convinced that you will find better hotels with better value for the money elsewhere in Paris.

Myself and a group of collegues attended a conference in Paris and booked in at the Grand Amelot. The rooms are decent, parts of the staff are competent and friendly (the cleaning staff in particular), but I can not recommend this hotel.

The bookings was mixed up and two of my collegues was issued rooms that was already occupied. Carpenters also started to work in one of our rooms the 3rd day of our stay, dismantling the door, cutting carpets and making a Grand Amelot mess. The price for the WiFi is steep, £1 / 30min is rather solid. Alternatively you can opt for £15 for a week.

The neighbourhood is quiet and good, generally a tolreable stay, but I won't be returning here.
