A place to rest your head and very helpful team of people.
the sheets were clean and a working shower.
Definitely a budget hotel for Paris.
our room was not great but it was comfortable, the stairs are not for the faint hearted and no lift available.

Let me start off by saying that there are TWO Mary's Hotel in Paris. Most of the good reviews on this one, are from people who actually stayed at the other one (near Oberkampf).

This hotel is disgusting to say the least; peeling wallpaper, creaky floorboards, thin walls, seven flights of steep stairs - with no lift, loud building work on the 1st floor, sockets hanging off the walls, no curtains, dirty carpets, stains everywhere - everything just felt incredibly dirty.

The only reason i'm giving this hotel two stars is because 1) the two french staff were nice and helpful (not the arab looking one who couldn't speak a word of english - he was mean and scary), and 2) the lock on the door worked, so at least you have your safety and 3) it's super close to a supermarket and metro station.

Warning: I booked this hotel through laterooms and my booking did not go through as the hotel had recently changed their 'systems', so as I arrived there, they had no confirmation that I was going to be a guest, and they said the hotel was full. For some reason, I did manage to stay the whole three nights as planned, but they made me change rooms after the first night. If you're going to book this hotel (please don't), then do it through their own website.

This old hotel is in a pleasant area slightly on the outskirts of Paris but with very easy access to all the main attractions by bus and the metro next door. It has about 6 floors and we were provided with a room on floor 5. Suited us fine but would be difficult for the less fit as there is only access by stairs. Very clean bed and bedding and comfortable, warm room with flat screen tv (french only) shower and toilet clean but all needs refurbishing and redecorating. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and I'm sure they provided a very nice breakfast, but we decided to use a local bar. No shortage of places to eat and lovely local fruit, fish and cake shops.

Room Tip: Room 17 on 5th floor peaceful and looks out towards the hospital opposite. Not much privacy for the...

We stayed here as a family of three for only 66 euros a night and had low expectations. We merely needed a decent clean place to sleep. We weren't disappointed perhaps because we didn't expect much but out experience was different than the other reviews. Our room was very small as per usual in Paris, but it was clean and our private bathroom was nearly larger than the sleeping area. It was massive and had hot water, scalding in fact. Yes, the man at the desk was rude and had no Interpersonal skills whatsoever, but other Parisians were friendly and helpful. It was not even a block to the Metro, and there were restaurants close by to eat in. For the price it was fine, but next time we will stay closer to the main areas of the city.

This is an OK hotel, in a good location : metro close by and lots of decent places to eat nearby too. Breakfast (continental) was good, and the room was clean, with a comfy bed. Biggest gripe was the desperate need for a new lick of paint all round, including the room, and the bathroom, though clean, felt like a sports shower room you'd have at school. Not bad, could be better, don't go though if you're after Ritz-standards of luxury though!

We went to France to visit as many places as possible. Hence we were looking for a place which will provide us the basic facilities and this hotel gave its best to us. All the people who work there were very friendly and helpful. They helped us to understand the metro system, gave us free calls, cleaned the bathroom everyday and even offered to carry our luggage. The only downside is the lack of an elevator but apart from that, this hotel was perfect for our needs.
