We booked four nights here in a 'comfort' room and decided against upgrading as we had read reviews stating the superior ones weren't much bigger.

When booking we advised we would need to store luggage as we would be arriving before check in and requested a room on a high floor. One arrival our room was ready but it was on the first floor. This floor has a door you open with your pass key before you get to the room door but it opens outwards. In a narrow corridor with two cases this is no mean feat. Also our window looked across to another room so there wasn't much natural light.

The hotel is a converted town house and there in our problems lie. While we had plenty of floor space the wardrobe was built in but in such a way it wasn't actually wider than the hangers so your clothes were squashed against the wall one side and overhanging on the other. The bathroom was like a corridor with the shower at one end the a very small toilet in front of it. Anyone tall or large would struggle to use it due to its close proximity to the facing wall.

The hotel provides tea/coffee, a docking station etc to meet its star rating while over looking basic needs.

While we only spoke to the staff to check in/out and say good morning they all seemed very nice and their English was good (much better than my French). Location was good but we wouldn't stay here again.

Pros
Great location
Rosella on reception desk has fantastic customer service skills and very welcoming

Cons
Room was very small (maybe 4m by 4m? - I stayed in room 101)
Too hot in the room and air con not working or switched off (night staff not aware that red LED light on the control panel meant warm air is circulated)
Single bed bug found but to be fair not sure if this was bed bugs in problematic way or just one off bug of "non bed bug type".

Hotel staff compensated me for the stay so cannot complain too much but next time will want to stay in a larger room esp if I come with family (traveled on business this time around).

Room Tip: Avoid room 101.

Dear Sir,

We would like to thank you for having taken time to leave your review online.
We regret what happened during your stay.
We indeed still do not understand how the bug entered the room (except from the window and the plants in the building courtyard)
After having analyzed it and checked the entire room we are convinced that it was not the famous bed bug, in this case we would have engaged the appropriate actions (professional extermination).
We would like to apologize for the wrong information given at night time.
Indeed our colleague was not aware that the air conditioning was not actioned in the hole building, this is a professional mistake that is not acceptable.
Regarding the room size we are conscious about the standard’ ones (about 13 sqm). That is why we also indicate them on our web site.
We will be pleased to help you find the most suitable room if you decide to come back in our property.
Rossella would like to thank you for your kind note regarding her service.
I and all the team of the BEST WESTERN Paris Louvre Opéra remain at your disposal for any demand you might have for your future venue in Paris.

Best Regards.

Alexandre

A really great central location close to the main attractions in Paris.
It's a very small hotel, with small rooms but then that's what you get in Paris.
All very clean and well presented, and very friendly and helpful staff.
Just not quite a 5.

Nice welcome, pretty clean (floors could have been cleaned better), staff very helpful. Excellent location near all the historical spots. We traveled with two of our youngest children. We had a nice family sized room and worked well for us.

This well situated reasonably priced hotel is a perfect fit for a great stay in Paris.
Staff was helpful and the hotel is clean - bright - comfortable and within walking
distance to everything. I would stay again and highly recommend this property.

Room Tip: big beds - not your typical small rooms - beds really very comfortable
