Clean hotel but very, very tiny. The bathroom including toilet and shower was sooo tiny, but as I said - clean and fresh . Nice staff that could speak english. We didnt get much to breakfast, just coffie and a small toast and croissant. The lady working with the breakfast did not speak english only french and were not polite what so ever.
The hotel is located very close to the metro "Nation" and that was great because the Metro takes you EVERYWERE. All and all, it was worth the money

This hotel is very thin walls and no elevator. This means that when late arrivals come in, they are usually very loud and luggage is thrashing around trying to get up the stairs. It is impossible to get any sleep. Our room was very small which was expected but the bathroom had no shower curtain which means I was hovering in the corner trying not to spray everything. The hotel was very close to the metro but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We spent 3 nights in this hotel. We were put in a tiny room in the last floor. The female receptionist was very amicable and made an effort to understand our French. If you're planning on staying here, pack light, you might have to climb up about 6 stories of very inclined stairs. Also, know that the rooms in the last floor are tiny. The bathroom is a joke. You almost have to wash one hand at a time in the sink. The shower is tiny. You cannot move unless you want to hit your arms, back, head with walls or get stuck with a nasty shower curtain. If you don't mind this, (I thought I didn't until we got there, but next time we'll get a room with a tub to ensure space in the bathroom) you'll love the location. If you enjoy walking, I highly recommend you to walk rather than taking the subway. It's much more pleasant and you don't have to deal with smells.

Hotel location is EXCELLENT. Nation Metro Station is great for both arriving with RER and Metro easily with any metro line. You can arrive here from Defense or from any interesting point without changing line, easily.

Hotel is 100m from metro access. So if you arrive with Ryanair bus, take the Metro Line 2 or 1 to Nation, and DON'T take a Taxi: they will take you to the external jammed ring and take you 20 euros!!!!!!!

-Front desk and appearance: nice, wooden, indian culture.

-Breakfast: not so good. no buffet: 5 euros for 2 bread pieces, a croissant, butter, jam, a cup of hot drink and water-added juice

-Rooms: very small, but essential. Good furniture, but small bed size, but even smaller curtains. Difficult to stay covered in two in the bed :)

-Bathroom: small, essential, detached by a extensible panel.

- Floor: moquette with some dust and "maculate" look - little dirty

- Good TV set: all major european channels

- Warm and nice assistance from hotel staff (they're not French, so they're usually nice to strangers)

As a sum up: nice price compared to other hotels in paris. Excellent position as far as metro. Essential.

This is a simple, straightforward Paris hotel located just off of the Place de la Nation in southeasternmost part of the 11th arrondissement. We stayed here 3 nights, including this past New Year's Eve.

- Good rates, especially internet specials booked through their homepage, ------------------ . Room rate appears to range between 35 and 60 euros as of February 2005. Site is available in French and English.

- Good location for those seeking a hotel that's well-connected to the rest of thecity by mass transit, but not necessarily in the center of tourist activity. There are 6 train lines - both Metro and RER - that stop at the Nation station (steps away from the hotel) making this one of the best-connected hubs in the city.

- Plenty of decent restaurants, including a wide range of ethnic cuisines, in
walking distance. This is a real residential neighborhood, not a place to find
museums and touristy nightlife. There is a supermarket (Casino) with late
hours, even on weekends, that is nearby, right on the Place de la Nation.

- Room could use a fresh coat of paint. Scuff marks on the walls, etc.

- Bathroom was functional but small. Obviously recently retrofitted into the
room, which is not a problem, but the workmanship was kind of crappy. There was a hole in the wall that seemed to lead to the adjacent room -- where they smoked. The bathroom smelled smoky as a result.

- Rooms are on the small side, even for Paris. Not intolerable, but don't expect a suite...

Simple but functional furnishings, much of it looked like it was straight from IIkea. Front desk was friendly. As I spoke French with them, I don't know what their foreign language skills are like.

There is no elevator in this building.

Breakfast, served in the basement "grotto," is 5 euros and consists of coffee, a croissant, a roll, jam, butter, and possibly some fruit. Lackluster for the price. Local bakeries are a better option.

Note: this is *not* the Camelia International Hotel/Hostel, which is located in the 17th arrondissement.

Bottom line: This is not a luxury accomodation, but it was decent and functional.
