“The rest of Paris could learn something from this restaurant”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

Quaint, personable and memorable is how I would describe Magokoro. We followed every recommendation the owner had and were never steered in the wrong direction. We spent 4 days in London before venturing to Paris and this by far was the best dining experience. We even made reservations to come back before we left. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

“Delicious Japanese”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

I was looking for LaFourchette discounts and was surprised to find this place ranked so high on TripAdvisor.

Went with a friend and we both loved it - everything was delicious, and thanks to the discount not even that expensive. The service was as good as the food, the woman working there was extremely nice and communicative.

There wasn't so much choice in the menu, but I would definitely try to come here again and try some of the other dishes.

“The best Japanese ”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

This place was wonderful. We asked the lady serving us for a recommendation and went with the 26€ each menu and it didn't disappoint! The bream & kiwi was amazing and a standout but all was fantastic and the service was also outstanding. Would recommend to everyone.

“authentic”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

If you are fed up with sushi, yakitori and so on. Try this authentic restaurant. Near Notre-Dame-de-Lorette and Montmartre, you'll enjoy this japanese food. I had the "Verrine Shaké" and the "Tataki de thon".

“Elegant and Welcoming”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

There are a lot of good reviews for this place covering the freshness of food and brilliance of flavour, so I won't repeat them other than to say they are true.

Whatever you order will be beautifully presented, expertly balancing bold flavours with delicate textures. I'd particularly recommend the sardines in vinegar.

The food, although fantastic, took second place to the service for me. It's a small kitchen, only three people working, but they still managed to be attentive and kind and genuine and charming.

The lady who owns the business moved to Paris from Hong Kong 15 years ago. That's important because she knows her heritage but also understands the heart of Paris. And that's what this place is. Authentic heart.

Book or get there early (evening service starts at 19:00)

Highly recommended.
